Jungle Quinn?

So just to mess around in a normal the other day, I played Quinn. In the jungle.

Hear me out:

Clearing: She has an AoE blind, so camps get cleared quicker AND stop dealing damage to you for a couple seconds. I started rock bros and took almost no damage between the blind and the smite stun: Blinding assault -> smite when blind ends to stun -> blinding assault again -> stun again is basically how it went. Those damn chicken raptors didn't do their infamously ridiculous damage to me while blind for two auto attacks each! And I had plenty of HP to clear out red buff and keep going. She also does tremendous damage with Harrier, which you can proc automatically or manually with E (But be careful not to waste your E cooldown if you know there is a possibility of being ganked/counter jungled and may need it for a fight).

Ganking: R. Her ult. It gives a huge movespeed boost that basically makes (intelligent) ganks impossible to avoid when combined with her gap-closer (rush at them, if they flash, dash, or jump, THEN use the gap-closer, but NOT BEFORE), she can blind them to prevent a counter-engage on AD champs, and her burst damage is ridiculous when you perform her rotation properly.

Other stuff: Her W is perfect, it's amazing and wonderful. She can always check to see if enemy jungler is counter-jungling, or she can make sure a lane she's ganking isn't also being ganked at the same time by the enemy jungler.

She's an amazing scout with nigh-impossible-to-escape ganks, heavy burst damage, excellent mobility and dueling capabilities, and an incorporated vision tool. Give her the chilling smite slow and she's a very formidable jungler.

Thoughts?

Nice job innovating and trying something useful for Quinn! What runes / masteries are you running?

I had thought about jungle Quinn a while back but it was before the jungle changes, and it does seem fun, I'll have to give it a try soon. :D

Works. Can E on monsters in the camp to jump over walls to help with mobility.

Also Jungle Graves works.

Almost every melee jungle camp, there's a sweet spot were you can self leash and hardly take any damage.

I've played jungle Jinx a bit, it's pretty fun, when stalkers blade and devourer first came out it was pretty broken too, infinite scaling magic damage + true damage.

SHHHHHH DON'T TELL THEM MY STRATS

This has been something I've been theorycrafting for a while. The gromp can be leashed, and then i can clear the entire jg without backing no problem. Yes, even the chickens of death.

I seriously thought the jungle changes would put glasscannon/non-standart junglers in the dumpster after seeing some Kha'Zix getting executed in normals, funny how the new jungle items and bonuses like the AA stun make many junglers viable... I'm having a lot of sucess with assassins in the jungle like Fizz and Katarina, they work really well if you have the right comp (like one that needs an assassin!).

Her clear is just too slow. It's painful. The level 2 gank is a smart move, but it's risky... if you fail on the gank, you will NEVER catch up the rest of the game. Period. Because now you just wasted time you could have been farming, got nothing out of it, and you're going to be underleveled so you can never successfully gank a lane again, and the enemy jungler is free to do as they please.

If you want to play Quinn jungle, just play Rek'Sai. Literally feels the same to me, and Rek can clear her entire jungle and hit level 4 before having to back. Someone test this: How long does it take you to clear the whole jungle and hit level 4 with Quinn, and then test the same for Rek'Sai.

The reason I say Rek'Sai is like Quinn is because you get the same sort of combo engage, only reversed:

  • Quinn comes in fast as valor, vaults to the enemy, stuns them for a moment, deals tons of damage.

  • Rek'Sai comes in fast via tunnel, unburrows on the enemy, stuns them for a moment, deals tons of damage.

They both have ultimates that help them quickly travel the map, they both have a skill to allow them to see a large area around them to check for nearby eneimes.

The only difference is Rek'Sai is overloaded and you can drool on yourself and still win with ease.

What's your clear order of camps?

Rock bros, then red buff? I'd be hesitant to clear TWO whole camps before red buff bc counter jungling.

Quin is pretty slow in the jungle. Not the slowest ADC, but not the best either. I find that she can't clear fast enough while keeping her health up, and she just falls behind.

There are a few unknown ADC's that are pretty strong in the jungle (no I don't mean twitch) but I wouldn't classify Quinn as one of them.

Quinn "I live behind enemy lines"

She is pretty bursty, you can build her two ways, on hit or full burst. "What the Moose" have a guide for his on hit build. One of the best guides for Quinn, but it is not something really full item build viable. You can read a lot of tips and tricksin his and other guides. When building her, she needs armurpen and less AD (because of her poor AD ratios), but don't get more than 6-8 armorpen from your rune page setup when jungling. Last whisper is a must when everyone in the enemy team reached 60 armor (lvl 11) or when they build a lot of armor items. CDR and Attack Speed are other good stats on her, but try not to overshoot the max Attack Speed when her Ult is on. For the full burst build, I recommend building these items on her: item 3071 item 3078 item 3035 item 3111 item 3110 item 3102 item 2140 Black Cleaver, as a Brutalizer item, can be replaced with warrior enchantment jungle item, BotRK or ghostblade. Frozen Heart is one of the best CDR items. Abilities and spellblade procs are big parts of Quinn's damage. Banshee's Veil can be replaced with Mercurial Scimitar or with Zephyr + Berserker's Greaves. This is somewhat a flying Irelia build, so if someone makes her popular, expect nerfs, especially to her E mana cost.

Jungle twitch is the only jungle ADC for me. Melts anything with BoRK/Warrior/Ghostblade. Never build items with more than 3000 gold cost or anything more expensive than pickaxe as a component. You can wreck entire teams with cheap arpen builds like BoRK/Warrior/GB/Tabis/Banshees/LW with arpen runes (where you do true damage to anyone with less than 80 armor once you get LW) and still be tanky enough to survive a bit.
