I really have to question this. Fizz has strong all-in potential at all points, and there's very little Vlad can pool. He can block Trickster's damage, or Shark's damage, but still eats the debuff. Not to mention, the 20s+ early CD on Vlad pool + jungle pressure makes the matchup iffy. I feel like Fizz could pretty easily bait the pool, or just win trades outright.

Not to mention, QSS is still an item. That counters Fizz's ultimate, currently. Most mages can just pick up a QSS and, Fizz loses most of his kill potential in lane.

I think vlad would be tanky enough to survive and even win an engage without fizz's ultimate, and if fizz uses his ultie vlad can pool it. I guess maybe it would be more of a skill matchup and kind of iffy but I don't think fizz has an inherent advantage

I tried Malzahar . It didn't work, we need stronger AIDS to fight cancer of this level.

If the Fizz allows himself to be harassed too much between levels 1-4, he's going to lose hard. If he plays a bit more conservatively and calculates his allins, he can beat Vlad. I'd say it's a skill matchup. It's right up there with Swain vs Fizz.

Season 4 Yorick completely dominated mages and assassins mid. I played him at Platinum 3 when climbing to Plat 1. I had a game where a Kassadin was level 5 while I was level 9. Yorick has the potential to zone most of them out since they just don't have the tools to deal with him. Mid tends to revolve more around harass into a kill, but that doesn't really work against Yorick.

I played Zyra into Fizz. I had Abyssal Scepter components. He had Sheen. He ulted me under turret and I exhausted him after he leaped onto me. Then he walked into my combo. I barely lived as he got out with 40% HP.

yeah fizz shits on a lot of mages like zyra, anivia, etc. Honestly some people that deal with him well are cho gath and malz (the silences eat him alive Chogath ) yorick (he's fucking yorick mate) urgot (he actually does extremely well against a lot of assassins, fizz included Urgot ) and swain Swain the survivability with his ultimate plus targeted harass with his e that the troll poll can't mitigate make him do surprisingly well at harassing fizz and surviving his all-ins

and of course vlad, because harass is easy with your q and you can easily fuck up his all ins with your pool. The vampire strikes again Vladimir

Diana is probably fizz hardest counter. at least its what i hear all the time. or maybe Mordekaiser if fizz gapcloses on u and uses E hes dead. you just build ad on your morde and you win. Galio

or maybe ryze.

you see a pattern. tanky mages. fizz shits on any squishie champion. even if its veigar. or really any squishie champion.

play a tank mid and build some damage and u prolly beat fizz if u make it without feeding him early.

Diana basically hard counters any mage mid. She can rush abyssal while theyre building regen. She hits like a truck and takes no damage ;p Can all in literally the second you have abyssal.
