Yorick rework proposal

Here is my second rework proposal of the week, Akali. I will link each of my other proposals as I make new ones.

The scope here is mostly a power shift, Akali will need a few new animations maybe a better model (She has noodle arms) but not as drastic of changes as most others. My goal as always is to get some feedback on this kit proposal. I would love to work for Riot, or another gaming company as a concept creator. Hopefully by keeping up with my daily reworks I will improve myself.

Akali - The Fist of Shadow

First off why Akali?

Because I feel she has a very binary kit, although it feels "fun" to dash on people it is a simple targetable skill. This would be fine if this wasn't several other characters current design as well.

Yes sadly the creation of Fizz has put Akali behind. What do I mean by that? Well they both click on you to get to you, although Fizz can do it at level 1. They both have a tricky way to get closer or escape their targets, but Fizz's makes him invulnerable which is stronger. They both power spike at 6 very well, although Fizz's ultimate has utility and is balanced around it being a skillshot.

What makes them differnt? well Akali does also get some scaling off of attack damage. She has 1 aoe skill, but then again so does Fizz. Even Diana shares some gameplay similarieties with Akali. And with Fizz not in need of change it is best to change Akali instead.

What my kit proposal attemps to do is add skill to Akali, give her earlier chances for good plays, and lessen her snowballing. With that here is my kit proposal -

Skills - Passive: Twin Discipline - Akali is strongest when she maintains rythmn between basic attacks and her skills. After she atacks and then casts an ability her next basic attack will deal bonus physical damage and heal her, but if she uses a skill she loses her rythmn and must wait 3 seconds to start her rythmn again. If she starts building rythmn by using an ability then attacking her next ability will deal bonus magic damage and refund 20 energy, but if she instead attacks twice in a row her rythmn is lost and she must wait 3 seconds to build it up again.

This new passive is meant to take away her insanely powerful free stat boosting passive and replace it with something players need to be mindful of to gain the most effectiveness out of it. Because it takes away her free stat nature she will likely need either stronger base damages or stats, or get stronger scaling on her skills.

Q - Mark of the Assassin - Akali throws one of her kamas in target direction dealing damage and marking the first target hit, her next attack or ability against the target will consume the mark to add a bonus effect.

Attack - bonus damage and shreds the targets armor.

Ability - bonus damage and shreds the targets magic resist.

The 2 changes here are to make it a skillshot to increase its distance and give it a stronger effect when the mark is consumed. Otherwise the ability is fairly the same as her current version.

The bonus effects are meant to allow her the opportunity to break her rythmn if she desires for a quick burst of damage.

W - Cresent Slash - Akali sweeps her kamas around her dealing damage to all enemies around her. This ability deals 100% of her attack value as physical damage plus some bonus magic damage. Cresent Slash counts as both a basic attack and an ability for the sake of keeping her rythmn and thus never breaks it.

There are 2 changes here, first allowing the ability to deal more physical damage. Second is to help her keep in rythmn for her new passive. Otherwise the functionality of the ability is unchanged.

E - Shadow Dance - Akali leaps forward kicking the first enemy unit she hits and dealing magic damage. If a target is marked by her Mark of the Assassin she will leap towards them through units a greater distance and consume the mark and give her another charge of Shadow Dance. Shadow dance can hold 3 charges refreshing every 30 seconds. (reduced by cooldown reduction.)

A couple of changes here, one is that her dash is no longer her ultimate. Second it is not targetable unless an enemy is marked by her Q. And third she does not get stacks back on kills and assists, thus preventing her from having too much mobility. With the change of mobility she will be allowed to gain power elsewhere.

R - Twilight Shroud - Akali bathes a large area in a shroud reducing the movementspeed and vision of any enemy within it, additionally Akali becomes stealthed while she is inside the shroud.

The shroud is now much larger as it is her ultimate.

By swapping her Shroud with her ult Akali can now more easily fight early, but by keeping shadow dance from having limitless reset potential and with lower damage to compensate. Her ultimate would be larger and now also reduces vision like nocturnes ultimate to enemies inside allowing her and her team possible extra surviveability.

The new ultimate would easily be countered by a few ultimates in game, such as sejuani galio amumu, or even twisted fate. Even gangplanks area denial ultimate would help to counter Akali's new larger shroud.

I have seen some talk about Akali as well as alot of other champion I have Proposed Reworks for recently so I am hoping to get more feedback on my takes on them.

your reworks are useless because Riot thinks they know better, they never listen to players, their reworks are mostly bad while summoners given them such good reworks which they never used (Karma/Sejuani)

The ideas are interesting, though Im not particularly fond of the passive.

Primarily, because Akali is an Assassin, and the back and forth with abilities and autos sounds much more like a bruiser melee champion thing. The concept is interesting, but I don't think it feels right for Akali.

Interesting thoughts for moving the Dash to E. I like the "its a skill shot unless" aspect. Makes hitting Q important for her. I think this would help her early assassination patterns, though I could see some complaints about her hitting Q, dash in for trade with aa/W, dash out. I don't personally see that as a problem, as it requires you hit with your Q (now a skill shot), but people will always complain about something.

No thoughts on W as it mostly interacts with your passive.

R- I just need some clarity on what exactly you are envisioning. If shroud is going to be the ultimate, its either going to be weak with a low cooldown, or awesome with a normal/long cooldown.

Overall, interesting ideas, not a fan of the passive. Good stuff though.

EDIT Just as a general note: I think the hardest part about reworking Akali is keeping her a unique champion. Making her Q a skill shot, which interacts with her dash by way of not costing a charge is essentially the same as Diana. They already have extremely similar playstyle. If you want to work on your write up skills, I would suggest working on figuring out how to make Akali "feel" like her own unique champion. Maybe its Diana that needs reworked? I dunno. but the two play in a VERY similar fashion.
