Morde bug on Howling Abyss?

Hi, when I play Morde on ARAM or LotPK, my W casts on random units (champions only I think) instead of the targeted unit. Is it set to cast on the nearby ally or is it bug? I don't even know if it casts on the nearest ally, it seems completely random, most of the time it cast on a champion who is exactly opposite side from my cursor. Mordekaiser Killed me many times cause I could not heal or get that MVS buff.

Can confirm -- it's really fucking aggravating because it's gotten allies killed (when the game decides that I really meant to 'W' the mage behind me instead of the bruiser on the frontline with me).
