I see a Brand support on my team, and everyone is cool with it. I select Syndra for support and all of a sudden players be like, "What are you doing? Get shit outta here!" Dont get me wrong, I'd rather play actual supports like Janna and Thresh, but once in a while I want to do something different. Something off meta. I just have a hard time seeing why such a bursty mage like Brand gets a free pass as a 'support' champion and not Syndra?

Brand can throw his ult and get a double kill while Syndra has to combo for 1.

Frost queen interacts better with brand but other then that Syndra is better brand in mid why wouldnt she be better then brand in bot
Also Syndra has immense powerspikes once she reaches certain levels she could easly be exp starved in botlane
Chimp Joker1 votesThe same can be said with Syndra. I won't lie and say that she isn't item dependent, but her early game is still strong. Once her q reaches its second rank, poking down the duo enemy bot lane is strong. Plus if you are able to land your stuns and follow up with your team, winning the lane should be fine. Once late mid to late game shows up, you can just build AP and better help your team.

Supp Brand was featured as a "Dark Horse Off-Meta" and got a ton of attention from it. Syndra hits pretty hard too with limited items. Put Syndra in a featured episode of off-metas that tilt you enemies and she'll be accepted.

Question is, can Syndra support work well enough from behind? Brand keeps his mayhem ult and %health damage no matter what. Zyra has zone of control with plants that will shred you if you don't mind it. How about Syndra? (clearly I am not that familiar with her, when she isn't just dominating mid)
Chimp Joker1 votesSyndra is a champ that specializes in punishing players for any mistake they make. She can setup stuns and catch the enemy player off guard. Even if the team is behind, there is still a possibility that she can carry late game.
Requiemsfire1 votesBrand has more reliable CC and doesn't need as many items to stay relevant. He's also good at generating gold with spellthief's. Not to mention Syndra requires time to set up her ultimate for optimal amounts of damage where as Brand can roam without impacting his combo's output.

That is true, but having to setup his stun is almost no different from Syndra. Setting up for an ultimate? Hardly. If the health is low enough, either stun or exhaust the enemy team for your adc to finish the job, or hit r.
The Last Ballad1 votesMore reliable cc? Syndra has a guaranteed knockback with a possible stun(which only requires you place a ball in their direction) and a slow on her w, Brand has a stun that is also gated by hitting someone with another spell and can only slow with

Seems that they have the same amount cc reliableness... with Syndra on top as she has a non-combo cc at will with her e and a slow on her w. With Brand you miss your q and nothing happens, with Syndra you miss your ball launch and they are still knocked back... Offensively that is as bad as Brands, if not worse, but defensively it is way better.

I am not fond of Syndra's voice. Waaaaaayyyyy too aggro all the time. Like, I get it, you are powerful. Brand is like a warm muffin on a Saturday morning.
