As a support main, Kallista really pisses me off

I won't go into if Kallista is OP or not, but there is one thing in particular about her I wish to talk about.

I mean, it's already bad enough I have to deal with another champ that jumps while playing Blitzcrank , but now I have to play with a champ that can literally launch me whenever he wants?

Didn't Riot think of the troll potential? Or the fact that you can't determine whether or not you can get launched? In just one game there were at least 3 times where I got pulled into the ult when if I had just ran in it would have been a lot better. Being able to control where another teammates goes unwillingly is possibly the worst mechanic anyone at Riot could have thought of. It's unfun to play with if your thoughts don't completely align with the ADC. It's un-fun to play against because it's basically Thresh lantern with damage. It's even un-fun while playing as Kallista because it means that if your "soul-bound" champ isn't near you, your ult won't work at all.

I'm ok with champs like Leona or Braum which require a teammate to bring out their full potential. But this seems like nobody really thought through. It might be ok if you're a pre-made, and I'm sure professional teams will make some interesting plays with it. But Pro players and pre-made lanes make up only a fraction of the whole playerbase. Who wants to play solo queue when there's a chance your lane partner can control where you go without any warning whatsoever?

I'm gonna be actively avoiding support for a few weeks cause I do not want to play with one as my lane partner.

She's going to get banned in solo queue like nobody's business for those exact reasons. Riot went full retard with this champ. Way too much mobility and purely toxic in solo queue.

You control the launch. If you want you can even dash away from the enemy. But Kalista can still make you untargetable and bring you to her, which might prevent you from securing a kill if she does so at a bad time.

I had a scrub Kalista bond with me as a jungler. Dumbest shit ever. She lost lane because of it and I really don't want that stupid ult on me when I'm trying to assassinate in solo queue.

Like every new champ, I ban the shit out of it until people learn how to play it. Not because they're OP but because they're noob traps for bad players using a champ they consider "op" to compensate for their lack of skill.

That's the thing though. Regardless of your actions, you have to get shot out somewhere. Whatever action you were about to do is immediately interrupted so that you can get shot out like a projectile.

Not being able to choose if you even want to be taken into her ult is the main problem I have with it. Regardless of what you do if she casts her ult you are getting shot out somewhere.

She is strong herself, she can still 1v1 other ADCs. I'm fine with supporting Kalista's, because i like to stay with my ADC when i support and it gives me even more reason too. Once i get enough IP i'll be playing her as well (I main adc).

You will never get to be Wisp and teleport your friends into the enemy fountain

AMYS GRAVE11/21/2014, 4:45:28 AM1 votes

but being picked up is not your choice, if you are trying to use your abilities this is detrimental...

true example i'm braum, adc kalista- lucian ults, kalista pulls me out of combat, kalista dies because she is standing in the lucian ult, i get no choice to go anywhere because she died, i die to the lucian ult. if i had been able to put up my shield we both would have lived.

another example- defending turret i'm trying to put up my braum shield to avoid jayce/nidalee poke, kalista ults me, the poke lands on and kills our midlane apc, since i was trying to put up my shield i was clicking in the direction of their team and get plopped into the enemy team by her ult, i die and my team is now 3v5.

I have an idea - how about you use the chat and your keyboard to communicate with your teammate about how/when to use the ult?

There is if to whether or not she can force you. All she can do is bring you in. Then, you always, always get to choose what direction you fire in. The only time you don't is if you are afk. Otherwise, you can't be forced to do anything. There is no forcing if you always have the choice of what happens to you.

You either didn't watch the champion spotlight or are simply choosing to argue for the sake of arguing now. Congratulations on an official "woosh" on this entire topic.

How long do you have before she forces the dash? And I thought you were supposed to get a choice of whether to accept the contract?
