I took a pledge to not be toxic for a game
This was a meme that my friends were doing to see how bad the league community is, and I decided to join in the fun to see what it was really like to not be toxic.
This game was played in a ranked game where it would decide my demotion to Silver 4, which is inherently bad considering I really want the victorious skin on my 2nd year of playing League of Legends.
So we queue in a game that looks promising with a good draft on all lanes, and already the team runs into problems. First all lanes get solo killed in the first 10 minutes which is bad but don't tilt because game hasn't been decided yet, I try to untilt my team by reminding them we can still win. Its getting really desperate as my early game wasn't good after a bad fight over river control, our team is down gold and I'm ganking constantly despite knowing I'm missing out on CS to play for my team.
Around 18 minutes in the game our support is fed up with our "incompetent adc" and runs it down mid, burns ult, flash, exhaust, and afks in the base doing nothing. All attempts to untilt my team with "We can still win, game isn't over" and "Don't worry, the game isn't over don't lose hope" have failed. After a quick baron, our mid laner burning ult, flash, ignite, our top laner saying "gg better jungler always wins" and our support sending threats to my family, games over.
Now maybe just this team was toxic, maybe the game was decided when all lanes were solo killed pre 10 minutes, maybe league is just a place of bad emotions, but from this experience its what streamers call a fiesta.
Doing this pledge was actually a valuable experience however. Even though I'm demoted to Silver 4 with no chance of ever hoping to get a Victorious skin. Doing the pledge helped me not tilt and play consistently, you should try as well.
Anyways here are the game results as evidence "better jungler wins, noob xin zhao never ganked bot" and "Please never play this game again you trash player"
I hope you enjoyed this post, because I certainly didn't
And before you say you can just mute all, part of the pledge was to try your hardest to untilt players
