Grasp Of The Undying
As many of you guys know, the rune "Grasp of the Undying" can have great impact if you can constantly proc it during the laning phase. While the idea of growing your capped health bar and doing a % of your max hp as damage upon usage is a great idea for a tank or bruiser, it just doesn't help out enough for those who need to use it for sustainable development compared to those who can utilize it just because the player felt like it. If you look at the stats, someone constantly procking grasp can accumulate to about 1,200 if you prioritize and focus on just that during the lanning phase. The issue with procing this rune is its functionality. In fact, it is the timing and spacing in between it which is the problem.
Whether we like it or not, every champion has some sort of combo in their kit and it is either being a simple exchange or an all in; Typically you will lose against someone who is able to use everything against you for free and if the fight is heavily drawn out, the damage would more or less be based off of abilities rather than auto damage, which is why many chose conquer. The problem about this is that tanks and bruisers are forced to use something else, like Rammus with predator. It is not great and only useful in the jungle.
The point I'm trying to make here is how hard it is to proc that "grasp of the undying" if your champion needs it and relys on abilities against the dominant conquer rune. If "Grasp" at least stayed primed for longer after first taking or dealing damage, then at least that solution there would be a bit better of a mechanic, otherwise you will lose out on using it mamy times.
Neeess to say, Grasp needs help and specified for the champions they had in mind.
