Why not simply have solo players only queue with/against solos?

If Dynamic Queue is here to stay why not just split the player pools when they're holding their matches?

Solos only queue with and against other solos.

Duos, three mans, and 5 mans go in the other pool, with 4 mans basically not existing.

Would this not solve the issue?

EDIT: Quepha made an interesting point, that 2's would get hosed under this system as duo's would only be able to play with trio's and vice versa, with duo's being much more common. I suppose then, you would need to allow duo's to get placed in both queues with priority on the 532 queue.

because then you have 4 man premades and one solo has to fill their blank spot.

The Q TIME is bad enough, now you want to split the players. double the waiting time. no thanks

No, actually, it doesn't.

For starters, disallowing 4 mans is weird and annoying to players when the wrong number of friends happen to show up.

But more importantly, a 2/3/5 man queue simply doesn't work.

A duo can only play with a trio and a trio can only play with a duo. Duos are MUCH more common than trios. I would say an optimistic estimate would be about 2 duos for every 1 trio that queues up. Under that ratio, trios would always have instant queues while duos would have unplayably long queues of an average of 30-35 minutes (estimated average game length).

Solos only get matched with pre made groups in less than one percent of their games anyways.

Riot's algorithms already do that 99% of the time. They don't make it a hard rule, in order to keep the Q times down. But it's acceptable if getting matched up with a premades happens very rarely.

The main problem is, those algorithms break down at the higher ELO, Where their are far fewer players. And that's where something has to give.
