About the new "mortal reminder"

So this is one of the new last whisper items that is coming into the game for people who don't know. It builds from a now reinstated executioners calling and gives you **grievous wounds on physical damage. ** Its stats are this: Mortal Reminder 2500 gold Build Path: Last Whisper + Executioner's Calling + 400 gold +40 Attack Damage UNIQUE Passive - Executioner: Physical damage inflicts Grievous Wounds on enemy champions for 5 seconds. UNIQUE Passive - Last Whisper: +40% Bonus Armor Penetration. My question here is HOW DO CHAMPS LIKE MUNDO AND SORAKA DEAL WITH THIS. Not to be rage-y or pitchfork-y but seriously, this continuous and easily accessible source of heal reduction is seriously gonna make Mundo, Swain and Soraka unplayable. Is there incoming buffs for them? Or some way to make them stronger? I'm not really sure what this is all about but it definitely will make those heal based champs fairly useless. Which is saaaaaaaaaad :(.

Edit- Ok so after some further inspections, there are some new masteries in the resolve and cunning trees that help with healing (although I'm not sure how accessible cunning is to laners) and grievous wound is now a 40% reduction which is good. Still not a huge fan of an item being soley based around stopping healers but may not be completely crippling (still really bad for heal based champions though...).

I would rather see GW be an active rather than a passive.

Makes it more workable to deal with.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure it used to be an active back around season 2. I don't know why they changed that.

Now champions that build lifesteal get the option to shut down champions that are supposed to be designed around their sustain. I would be okay with this if they had to give up something to build it (like S3-S4 Executioner's Calling), but it seems like a decent item.

Soraka doesn't get countered by GW. Soraka counters GW. Mundo Swain and Aatrox are pretty fucked though. I think Vlad can deal, though.

Vlad and Nasus will be able to deal with it... atleast I think so Voli and Darius are fucked up too

Yeah, the only problem it would be for Vlad or Nasus is if a Teemo decides to rush EC in lane. I play some Teemo top, and if I was against a sustain champ in Preseason 6 that's totally what I'd do.

Yeah, no...

Soraka and any healer gets countered by GW. Her ult is on a 130 second cooldown at last rank and Grievous Wounds would simply be reapplied again on the next basic attack after her ult.

Raka can counter GW BUT it will just get reapplied with this item...

The VAST majority of Soraka's healing (both self and ally) is subject to GW. Only her ult and whatever healing she can manage in the subsequent few seconds (possibly less, with this item on a ranged AD) is actually free from GW's influence.

Will this item really be build that much though? The bonus armor pen is pretty bad seeing as unless if it goes to a tank meta again most mid, support, and ADC's dont build armor so that item is really only for Assassins in my opinion who dont care about the armor pen just the AD and the grievous wounds maybe?

I dont know how true this is but I read somewhere that the enemy would have to have about 700 armor before the 40% would pass up the old LW..... I dont even think that is possible with runes, masteries and 6 Frozen hearts lol.

This is the only % amor pen available to ADC's now (aside from the other armor pen item they are adding which is an AWESOME item). But that doesn't even matter honestly, it wouldn't have to be good in any other situations except when there are healers (which is why grevious wound sucks). It will NEVER be built unless there is a heal heavy champion. It's only situational power and literally makes heal based champions so much weaker.

I've thought about this and I feel like this should have some sort of cooldown or condition. Even Morellonomicon only works when champs are below 40% health. This kinda makes it bad to be a drain tank against ad champs.

The masteries don't even work on healing. Windspeakers blessing only works on shields and heals applyed to allies and perserverance only buffs your base health regen. sustain champs are getting absolutely FUCKED.
