The pro is you can ignore spammers and assholes. If all someone is doing is macro-spamming chat, that blocks communication far more than muting them would.

Well duh, but they shouldnt spam in the first place and if you are thinking that they are spammer that is disrespect so gotta focus on play not your peers. Muting is bad and spam is bad, especially if it is real. But spam + mute is even worse. You should try to do the good thing and trust them as well. of coursse.

Mutting is a good way to help a lot of people play better because they don't have to deal with the constant noise of the question mark ping, and the toxic ass Yasuo.

My point still stands, I've been here since season 1 and I've had to put up with a lot of shit from idiots over the years, so no matter how old at this game you claim to be, chances are Ive been here longer, now muting is fine the way it is. People have the option to mute a certain player whos only way of communication is spam pinging and other annoying forms of spam and bullshit. There are still 3 other players on the team that he can listen to, who he can communicate with. Not everyone mutes all the players in the game, people have a right to do that as well. Also, how do you know they even muted, I have a friend who never must but just doesn't say anything, doesn't ping. That's not being anti-social and noncommunicable, that's his prerogative, and he can just listen, toxicity spouts from wanting to shot call.

Most of those shot callers are people who are wanting to carry and in my experience, a lot of the time the shot callers are toxic and end up feeding and then get banned, people usually go down with them if they don't mute because they get into a fight. And now the person who could've muted is now banned, and the toxic idiot just gets away. Muting actually saves accounts from getting to worked up. Now I know you're apparently god and don't get tilted which is fine, but not everyone is like you, everyone is different, a lot of people who get tilted by people saying shit and spam pinging.

Because muting allows you to block assholes and people who have nothing better to do than spam or flame in the chat. I'd rather have the option to press a button and not have to listen to flame or spam than just sit there lowering my braincells by having some guy flame me in chat. There's a difference between muting and muting all, you can still communicate with other teamates who have something better to contribute, because if someone is flaming me odds are they wont be talking with me to come up with a great plan on how to steal baron and time soon, and you can easily communicate by pinging. And mute all isn't a bad thing either, if I'm on a very bad lose streak and getting very tilted, I'd rather mute people before they start flaming and prevent me from tilting even more.

Nonsense, you don't lose braincells when people talk to you. You should never tilt anyway, muting is just an excuse to be easily tiltable for you and it isn't doing you or your winrate any good. It also isn't doing your team any good when you decide to stoop under communication

If they're flaming, they're not just going to suddenly stop and try and coordinate plans with me. I'm not muting nontoxic people that actually want to try and win, they can easily still talk to me, I'm just muting people that do nothing but try and flame. It's doing myself good by not letting me get tilted and it's doing my team good as to maybe make the player flaming shut up and start playing instead of wasting his time and effort typing me an essay on how I should uninstall league.

You're wrong, i've seen people spam vulgarities in between calling out summoner spell cooldowns and successfully orchastrating ganks / informing the team by text chat. You should really try a thicker skin and doing your earnest best to work with the team and not just shut down and be as bad or worsse than the guy you have a problem with...

heres some steps to disable others from muting you in general : 1- dont flame. 2- dont spam nonsense. 3- dont use mia unless you want to use it the way it meant to be 4- just dont ping spam in general 2~3 is enough to say what you want to say.
