Can I be banned for playing Ahri top lane? I wanted to experiment with her in normal draft games and perhaps if she is viable top lane, play her in the mid-and top lane.

Ill just help you here. It's viable in bronze 5-1 and silver 4,5. Its not bannable. It's just something a person lacking any common sense would do. Just like zed top.

Think about what top laners do. They are either hyper scaling carry, an annoying juggernaut, or something with high utility to their team. Well, Ahri does none of these so check the box "not viable for people with 65+ iq"

It's not ranked so feel free to try it But believe me you will regret it , Ahri isn't good vs Tanks , unless you are lucky to play against Lucian or a mid laner playing in Top , otherwise you will be useless , you won't die and you can't kill , so if you really wanna go top , play her ad and thank me later

Ahri top is fine. People just don't like you going outside the meta. It's honestly much better going Ahri top sometimes, becuase of Ahri's current state, and how much less pressure top lane has compared to mid. You have higher chances to get ganked in mid lane, and it's easier to be on your own little island when you play top lane. So if you're a good Ahri, you can have more of a chill lane, and enjoy it a bit more. I play Ahri supp at times too. People don't like it, but I do actually win games with it.

I mean if you'd honestly like to try her, go for it. You might get flamed for it but meta breaking especially in norms isn't really reportable.

Playing a non-meta champion is not a reportable offense. Nor is losing, as long as you don't tilt. Beware, however, and be prepared to be brave and accept losses graciously, because if it doesn't work and it goes particularly badly, you will probably be flamed, and if you flame back, THAT can be bannable.

I have taken my old Season 3 mid main Ahri top before. It is viable. The issue however is that when it doesn't work, it really doesn't work. You will need boatloads of mana sustain (item 3070 early helps a lot), and may want to experiment by way of things like item 3115 for extra laning and push power as you are going to find autoattacks matter a lot in the long lane. Tanky utility grindy stuff like item 3116 that she wouldn't often build in a mid glass cannon comp is also better in toplane.

In general you are a good matchup against non-tank fighters and even or better against ranged tops (if you're good), but tanks really, really make you have a bad day. If you don't beat them by extremely skillful play on the first or second push, you don't win at all and can't farm later - any Garen Nasus Darius Malphite with item 3083 on is pretty much literally impossible for you to kill or even keep damage on.

As long as you're not intentionally feeding or loosing and actually play your game, you cannot be reported for any pick on any lane. Breaking the meta isn't reportable.

Some people will tell you that they will report you because you don't play the way they want but they don't get to decide.
