Ahri New Passive

Honestly, once this new passive was implemented for her, I never noticed it. It is literally borderline non-existent. I highly preferred the mana refund passive Rickless called a placeholder, but for me that very movement speed is the placeholder. Since a lot of Ahri players already use Lich Bane from time to time, a simple Shen passive would not have been too bad either. Considering how rarely Ahri sees any professional play in the LCS nowadays, I would love to see her at least as a niche choice again.

> Current Passive: Vastayan Grace: Static Cooldown: 9 > INNATE: Whenever Ahri lands 2 ability hits against a champion within 1.5 seconds, she gain 20% bonus movement speed for 3 seconds.

Completely agree on the current passive, it has yet to be relevant in a single game. While I doubt Rito will give her more damage back, and I'd almost say they're actively trying to keep her out of pro play, she is allegedly being considered for buffs due to the mana patch (or alternatively the partial dework one patch before that). Using the placeholder mana restoration passive would probably be a good fit; if the problem was that mages actively avoided confrontation, giving her mana for hitting her opponent seems like exactly what they're going for, both in terms of forcing fights, and boosting alleged performance drop caused by weakened mana sustain.

Spitballing here; it also gives her something to leverage against manaless champs and assassins, typically melee, who tend to outpush and/or outroam her, while having clear counterplay if they can dodge, unlike most free mana passives. This would mean a bit more strategic identity as a counter-roamer/assassin, since Rito is never sure what she's supposed to be. What even is a Kite Mage anyway, this is League; if they're not dead they'll be back at full in under a minute

I didn't know Ahri had a passive until now. [sg-zephyr]

Considering she is consuming memories according to her new lore, wouldn't it be cool if her passive acted alike a Runic Echoes by default? Allowing her to store a charge after moving and attacking and then releasing it upon contact. It would allow for a more diverse item build and give her more selective kiting potential.

Memory Drain: Gain charges upon moving or casting. At 100 charges, the next instance of ability damage you deal will expend all charges to deal 25 - 165 (+ 10% AP) bonus magic damage to the first enemy champion hit.

Otherwise, a friend also suggested to grant each of her abilities a secondary effect once the passive is charged. Of course, the cooldown would be increased, but it would most likely involve something along the lines of "your charm can go through minions now if you click on it once for activation and again to cast for 2 seconds, but your other abilities lose their second effect."

Honestly what's pretty bad, Everyone i talk to who reads her passive, Says she can't proc it off her Q alone. This is straight misinformation. She can proc it off of just her Q, as it counts as a spell hit, the same can be said with her W and her R. The one change i would make to her passive, would be to let the passive be reduced by cool-down reduction and increase the power of the movement speed based on level. 9 seconds is just so long. 4.5 would be much more tenable.
