New Red Buff Hard to See (Colorblindness)

I wanted to leave feedback about the new red buff aura, because I don't know how many people will notice it if they do not have the kind of colorblindness that I have. I sent an email to player support on the issue, but they informed me that I must post this feedback to the forums. Hopefully, this information will help other players in the future and make League better.

I have Protanomaly (red-green colorblindness with red deprivation) and the new red buff is very hard to see. The old one was hard to see for me, but it was kind of doable due to the contrast and intensity of the colors used on the old buff. Some people have told me the new buff looks like the sunfire-cape effect, which I also cannot see.

The colorblind mode in League is designed for Deutan colorblindness (red-green colorblindness with green deprivation) which is the most common type. The 2nd most common is the type that I have, Protan colorblindness. They're very similar in that they both affect the red-green spectrum, which causes confusion when those two colors are together as they appear extremely similar. Green weak people have defective green cones affecting middle wavelength light, and Red weak people have defective red cones affecting high wavelength light.

However, what makes us Protans special is that not only is the red color affected, as well as purple appearing blue due to this, its intensity is also greatly diminished regardless of the severity of the colorblindness. It's as if you had a dim-able light turn all the way to the lowest level but everything else is jacked all the way up.

It's actually such a problem that in Australia you can't get a commercial drivers license if you have this type of colorblindness due to your difficulty seeing red lights. There's more information in this link.

I've been playing league since season 2 and I've just sort of tried to work around it over the years. For example, Gnar's ability indicators, such as his hyper W or mega W indicator, are pretty much non-existent to me on his base skin, so I've always played with a skin that makes them white or light blue such as Snow Day Gnar or Super Galaxy Gnar. I recently hit 1 Million mastery on him, so it'd be nice if I could use some of his other skins in the future.
