Don't try to win your lane, try to win the other lanes

This is just my opinion.

  1. When in lane, start with a point in W. This will give a little bit of harass and grant you mana when you need it. Choose your card: blue for mana, red for mini AoE crit, or Yellow for stun depending on the match-up/situation. Blue does the most damage.
  2. Level 2. put a point in Q. This will help you farm. Remember your blue card when you get low. 3.Start with item 1056 and item 2003. Level three point in W. Level 4 point in Q. Level 5 point in E. From there, I try to max W first, Q second, and E last. Put a point in R when it comes up.
  3. First back, try to get item 3057 and item 1001. This will give you a little more punch and speed. The on-hit effect from the Sheen procs when you choose card, making your next AA hit harder.
  4. Don't forget to keep an eye on your enemy's build using [tab]. If he is using MR, pick up item 3020. If they are not building MR yet, hold and get item 3158 for early CDR. If you have enough gold, pick-up item 3113. This gets you closer to item 3100, which works well on TF.
  5. For more CDR, you can go item 3165. By this time, you should have 30% CDR with three items.
  6. Go for item 3157. The last two are situational based on who you are playing against. If you are facing a lot of ADCs (God hope not.) item 3116 and item 3136 into item 3151. This will also work on people building MR. You can also forgo the Scepter if they are MR heavy and add item 3135. If you are happy with the pen before the item 3116, pick up item 3089 for more AP.

I use hybrid pen marks, armor yellows, 6 magic resist blues and three CDR runes. I use three AP Quints. TF does both magic and physical damage. This will help a lot.

Keep in mind, I am not a ranked player. This is just what I do and it seems to work for me. I am sure there are more experienced TF players out there.
