Kindred is a Hell of a Blast to Play

I absolutely LOVE playing Kindred. Whether I win or lose, their mechanics play so smoothly that I can't help but crack a smile. Vaulting around like crazy during fights with my W's cooldown reduction on my Q is so enjoyable, even if I get bursted instantly in some of those fights XD. Kindred also feels very, very balanced to me. It's not like with Ekko where I played him for the first time and went something like 20/2/10 not even knowing how to play the champion.

So thank you, Riot, for a lovely new champion!!! :-D

Haha, I'm in a class right now but I played a match before I left this morning XD

I don't like playing against them though. Then, I'm just a filthy Morde main that detests mobility so my opinion's pretty much invalid.

Ah! The Morde God who has valiantly fought for his main to be addressed by Riot to only deaf ears :-( I feel you and I cry everytime I see your posts on the board with no Rioter response item 3070

Kindred feels a little overtuned... Not very fun to play against since they are near inescapable.

"Not very fun to play against since they are near inescapable." - true

None can escape death

Tell that to my Morganna ARAM games! :P

"I can't completely shut down that champion by walking away from it, Rito pls nerf"

Quort1 votes

It's interesting you say that because that's not what I said at all.

Akesgeroth2 votes

It's what's implied.

Quort1 votes

I think you may have misinterpreted it.

Akesgeroth1 votes

Then what did you mean?

I think Kindred's power should be shifted. Overall I think Kindred is relatively well balanced (in terms of damage output, jungle clears, objective control, gank patterns, etc...) but their "stickiness" is somewhat disconcerting considering they benefit far more by killing their target than other Champions. It is most frustrating when their passive allows them to select a target that lacks any escape capabilities.

I generally wait until I have a better feel for new Champions before commenting on the state of their balance but this stuck out to me. However, my opinion may change once I have more experience fighting Kindred. That's why I took offense to your original response. I hope that clears everything up!

Thresh The hell? That's the weirdest fight I've ever seen

Actual quote from my second kindred game. Well said sir.

Yeah they're just smooth as butter, and I can already see tons of little ways the mechanics can be optimized for various situations. It's gonna take some practice.

Totally agreed! Their mechanics are so smooth, and very much focussed on outplaying while comboing the enemy down. They might be a little overpowered tho, and likely will receive a nerf on their Q next patch, too bad. I think i found my new main jg : )

Are they finally out? I haven't seen anything online and I'm stuck at work all day.

PlsTouchMeGently3 votes

Yes sir, they released with the drop of the new patch!

Excellent! I'm ready (to wait at least a few days before it'll be possible to play them without someone picking them first!)

Her passive makes her pretty viable as an adc, too. her percent health damage feels so much better than vayne's and its not even true damage is it? But the thing i love most about her is that i always feel a sense that im scaling, whereas with other adc's or junglers or any champion really, i never feel like im strong until i manage to get a triple kill 1v3 or something. I feel that im strong with kindred when i have 6 stacks of passive at 20 minutes. you do 8% or so per auto and that plus bork means you can pretty much 6 shot any support that doesnt have armor yet, then at 7 it may be 5 shots. at 8, 4. until finally you just go three shotting everyone. and can we talk about the way that you select someone? at first i thought "fuck i cant change it" then i realized you can change your passive target even if you didnt kill that person yet but the passive's cd has come back up. So first thoughts = buff the ult heal a bit, or give it a scaling. maybe instead of reduced cd in w make it so that auto's reduce it by 1 second, or even a half second in addition to the reduced cd. lengthen it a bit sure but you should be able to kite an udyr with no boots. seriously its bs Q.Q. In addition, her e needs to scale. i haven't looked but it doesnt feel like it gives any more reward at rank 5 than rank 1. Max rank late game it does little to nothing you only use it for the slow, overview= great job so far riot just dont nerf her pls. she's very balanced as is only qol changes really

ONLY ONE MORE CLASS UNTIL I GET TO TRY THEM!!!

She is a lot of fun to play. Her ult feels pretty powerful, and will probably be OP in coordinated play. It feels like they designed two versions of Tempered Fate, and gave one of each to Bard and Kindred respectively. I'm not certain her early game presence is large enough to warrant her taking a jungle slot in competitive play, and 500 attack range is always a cause for concern in the bottom lane. Bard + Kindred double jungle with three strong solo laners seems like it would be a valid strategy, and it will be interesting to see if any pro teams pick it up.

This actually seems like a really interesting idea. This would also allow kindred to invade early and more often to get her stacks since she can rely on bard's magical journey to get her out of tough places.

Sorry Kindred lovers if this comes off as an insult, it is not suppose to, least I hope not. But as a Sion main I've feared for this day. Big guy already has a lot of counters and is heavily replaced by the juggernauts that took his name, except for ol' Morde here, even though Sion is a tank. First Vayne, then Fiora, right after that the Juggernaut replacements, and now Kindred. An infinite hp stacker vs an infinite hp% dmg dealer, one completely shuts down and counters the other, no chance, etc. Is the title of raid boss now only to AP carries and AD carries? Are the others like Sion and Nasus a 5 man party boss mid phase forever? Even though they were really the first and started it. I can't help but feel the undead "juggernaut", the "doge", and the "dark lord master of metal, rock, and music" are all huddled in a corner afraid and scared of their future but their fate sealed to doom already and eternity.

Also if you look into another corner you can also see Amumu, Anivia, Lux, and Malphite huddled as well feared to death about nerfs. ... So many scared champs these days, more so than ever.

Edit: also forgot to mention the constant tank nerfs are not helping the big guy and the doge in the slightest. Yes Nasus is a "juggernaut" (Nasus' blueprints was used but never modified for juggernauts) but he builds tank items because it is his survival and CDR.

Needs some bug fixing too. The wolf rubber bands all over the place like it's lagging.
