Is there something wonky with the MMR?

Playing out of my placements and the first few games and it seems like half the players should be in plat with their mechanics and the other half should be lower than silver. Making the games really coin flippy because of how wide the skill diversity has been.

Just had a game Where the enemy had a godly velkoz and shaco but also a darius who was subtly inting. While my team had a decent shyvana but the ADC kept literally throwing away leads(Walked out of a winning lane and sat in the jg for 2 minutes giving up lead, not last hitting the enemy making me get all the kills etc).

This isn't an expection. So far every placement match and the few games I played afterwards has felt like this.

Hopefully this fix itself since at the moment I don't even want to risk playing and get dealt a bad hand.

Yeah, its called the start of the season. Its why so many people generally wait until a month or two before starting ranked.

Well, considering they royally fucked up last season's MMR, it's probably a harder reset than other seasons prior. It'll even out, hopefully.

It's called a soft reset happened. Just like it happens at the start of every single season. Why are people still acting surprised that this happens at the start of each season? This is something that has been a thing since at least season 3 or 4 and I think they did a hard reset before that iirc
