Anyone else been doing well on Xerath?
I've had a lot of great games with him rushing 
for mana, followed by 
for poke boost and 
for infinite kiting and decent damage thanks to the buffs. Anyone else / build suggestions?

Depending on what I'm against I usually build morellonomicon/grail into either Luden's, Rabadon's or Zhonya's then following with another of those 3 or a Void Staff depending on what the enemy is building. End build is usually Sorcerer's Shoes, Zhonya's, Morello/Grail, Rabadon's, Void Staff, Luden's/Rylai's.
I do what I call a sling-shot build which I can only seem to do on Xerath and Veigar.
I go to lane with nothing but my trinket and stay under tower last hitting and poking with my Q.
When I've gotten enough gold for a needlessly large rod, I back, buy it, then TP back to mid.
From there, you can build a Zhonya's or Rabadon's. The fact, though, is that you just spiked in AP damage and are now ready to bully your lane opponent.
Skip the mana/cdr item... You dont need it.
When i smurf in silver i go straight for mejais, followed by ludens and deathcap.
Its a little different because I only get caught out once per game, but the point is your passive op.
