A cool idea to buff Cassiopeia

Hello! I have seen many other people (besides me) comenting about cass's current state soI wanna talk about how you people feel about Cassiopeia and also give some feedback about what I believe her main issues are and an idea I had to give her a little buff.

This is what I think are her main issues:

  1. She is hard to play, which is fine, I love the challenge! but most times she does not feel rewarding at all compared to mastering Azir, Viktor or even Anivia. She is super situational, and yet, you could be better off without her and pick someone safer.

  2. Her kit yells lane bully yet her early got gutted, I still remember the pre-rework level 2 FBs, so yummy. I know this is because riot's new trajectory for her to the late game, where she is supposed to shine. But I think she got gated hard, she is not allowed to punish miss-position or bad plays from her enemies because you will get oom if you casts 4 Es. Seriously, just go some pots and Cass will never kick you out of lane. This can be solved by some Ap regen yellows, but that denies a defense stat for her like health or armor. She could use a little mana buff imo.

  3. I play cass a lot, and in my experience, the 500 stacks usually caps at 40-43 mins. She is supposed to get this 500 stacks, as her design intends; to make her "the late game monster" as riot said. But games usually end now by 30-35 minutes in my experience, so most of the times (specially if the enemy team got an early lead) Cassiopeia is not allowed to get her late game state. I would say that her cap stack should be 450 stacks to make it a little fair.

So those are the main issues I find with Cassiopeia. I really love the whole late game hyper carry thematic (looking at you KogMaw <3). And I think Cassiopeia needs something else for her late game... examining Cassiopeia, she plays soo very similar to an adc, though she is rather short ranged... She relies on constant E spam to make damage, much like an AA from an ADC. Now, following this pattern and comparing her to other late game carries like Vayne and KogMaw, she could use a little health %magic damage.

Here's my idea:

At 500 stacks (or 450 if rito-sama allows it) Cassiopeia also deals 3% of the targets maximum health as magic damage with her Q and W with each tick (9% with a full Q), this could give her a nice tool to retiliate back at tanks and iniators that miss-play at locking her down. I don't really think this would be a huge buff to her, but a fair one to make up for her early game nerfs.

What do you guys think? Do you think Cassipeia could need a buff? Be comfortable to give some feedback too!

Ehem... Riven Azir Caitlyn Draven Viktor are bigger lane bullies in my opinion, like I said, you could just run cristaline + pots or boots + pots and you'll be fine against cass because she is very mana hungry.

Cassiopeia is extremely risky to buff, because she has the potential to be really unhealthy to play against. I mean, how is a lategame hardcarry that can bully you and straight up kill you or force flash if she just lands one Q at lvl 2 (followed by the E spam), balanced? The concept of lanebully hypercarry is kinda broken, since it's not like she has a huge powerhole midgame anyway. Her early nerfs were kinda needed to tone down her dominance. Thinking about straight buffs about your main always looks cool, but tbh it's not really the way to go. Try more around powershifting.

Imo, the thing about Cassiopeia is her rework kinda sucked because she doesn't feel at all like a poison mage, and she actually did before. Now she's more of a : apply poison debuff -> spam EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for tons of damage. And R or reverse R (R->flash) to turn around teamfights. That's pretty much it. I guess she would deserve another rework.

Anyway, damage is not the problem. She melts anybody very fast lategame. Plus %health damage is a really bad mechanic.

I aggree with you, but right now this is what with got for her :/ Riot said no future plans for her, so I thought about ideas to buff her. Since riot wants her to be squashed at early, it would be fair to give her that very late game carry feature, the %health damage, it does not seem like much in my opinion. Also, it would only be acquired at the very late game, if she managed to get there...

Melting people doesn't necessarily mean having %health. DPS of a full yolo lategame Draven item 3046 item 3046 item 3031 item 3072 item 3035 item 3142 is far higher than some item 3153 -based builds.

Actually; %health (non-true -> Vayne VADE RETRO) damage kinda falls off, it usually has a weak ratio and gives relevant damage but can't really be scary enough to oneshoot. While carries benefit a lot from high ratios, Crit/attackspeed/lifesteal/arpen itemisation for AD, AP/magicpen/cdr/%AP(item 3089 ) or additional scalings (item 3100 item 3285 ). %health damage kinda only benefits from what? 2 of the following : Attackspeed/pene/cdr, depending on if it's on autoattacks or spell. %health damage usually gives a good powerspike and then falls off. As weird as it may seem from a stat that is stronger against tanks.

You just... don't need it. It's crazy how people think they'll never be able to kill tanks without some form of %health or true damage. That's just false. Hell, you even are one of the best tankmelters in the game already (lategame)

I love how you said carries have high ratios. Unfortunately, Cassio's ratios are really low. Her highest ratio is her E and it's only 0.55 at max rank.

But on an extremely low cooldown, so it's 1.1 AP ratio per second !!!!!!!!! Which is probably the highest AP ratio in dps of the game

meh... not sure why you want to buff her very late game when that's not the problem at all. :P

If something needs adjusting, it's her early game; to make it more reliable to get to the late game.

Because that's what riot wanted, a late game carry. I think the % health damage is a feature of a late game carry, specially with cass mechanics. Riot and the other players hate cass early so it will stay squashed...

while I agree that Cassio is probably not the best in the current metagame I definatly don't think giving a high sustained damage hero like her %hp damage is a good idea.

percentage based hp damage should be avoided as often as possible as a base part of a champion's kit, especially for AP heros due to item 3151 existing as an item

just my 2c

Well, other late game hyper carries like koggy and vayne besides the natural %health damage in their kits, they build BOTRK. So why can't cass have both? it's not a lot of damage and it's in the poison. Also, it would be acquired at 500 stacks which means 42 mins. Where tanks already have MR stacked on them. Late game carries like kog and vayne are supposed to shred tanks. I thought Cass could use that too.

CASSIOPEIA just needs to her poison TO BE BUFFED and NOT only IN LATE GAME . the actually cassio is fine , but kinda hard to 1v9 in this meta ; but yeah we miss the old cassio ans she needs A bit more emphasis on poisons ; and be able to max q over e in early vs certain matchups thats why she needs her poison numbers to be buffed , and not her passive ; thats all she needs
