Orriana Mana Problems... ;______;

Hey Summoners!

Orriana is one of the best duelist out there, and one of the best poke champs in the game! Don't get me wrong she is one strong bully. But her mana problems stop us from poking or doing damage most of the times, in order to do damage we need mana. Even Karthus has better mana sustain! So what I would like to see in the next patch or so maybe mana regen. per level increased, like: **8.5 - 23 And Q per level will have less mana? Like so: 40/45/45/50/50 **This would have a great positive impact to the champion, and also to W could the mana per level also be lowered down? Maybe to: **60/65/75/100/105 **Thanks for reading, hopefully these changes will be added to the next patch! :)

Mages in general have gone through a lot of trouble surrounding their mana regen, so perhaps Orianna could use slightly better mana management. However, unlike most mages, Ori can deal a lot of damage at no mana cost, due to her on-hit magic damage. It's extremely important to trade with autoattacks, on any champion but especially on Orianna, and doing so will lessen the need to use abilities to deal damage, unless you're playing a really risky lane and can only poke (in that case you might not even want to focus on trading at all, though).

baetoevn3 votes

I totally agree! She does need more mana regen. And her auto attacks do quite a lot of damage, I still would like the mana regen. buffs if possible! And if you could, spread / share this page around, thanks! :)

Orianna right now is in a state of perfect balance. She doesn't need any changes and just needs to be left as is.

Twilíght4 votes

no, she is in a state of perfect balance, but her mana is a huge problem, i still think she needs a buff to her mana

Martyrofsand1 votes

Her mana costs are part of what makes her balanced. If you change those you throw off her balance, which is frankly a stupid thing to do or want considering you even admited she is balanced.

Sonolight5 votes

same, I agree too, she has way too little mana regen and mana for a mana caster

I once bought a Athene's Unholy Grail on Orianna thinking that in order to sustain mana I should buy an item which sustains mana. Unfortunately I soon found that this was not the case as I had simply bought a CDR and Mag resist item and the enemy laner proceeded to beat me over the head with a metaphorical dead cat. I had purchased the equivalent of a wet noodle after the mana percent changes and the items following nerf. I requested the help of my fellow teammate residing in the jungle for a pick me up in the form of a blue buff, I said "Alas good sir, might I request a blue buff or a gank?" he responded "stfu noob". I was befuddled to say the least. Now you know my tale.

TL;DR Slight Orianna mana sustain buff may not be a bad idea.

Dude, just dodge her abilities and don't get so agro then. Simple as that. And no, she's not the best team fighting mage... at all.

So i'm supposed to dodge every single q she throws out late game?

Twilíght4 votes

dude GET SOME MR THEN! Simple. And don't get so agro so it wont hit you.

She actually is in the top 5 teamfighting carry mages. They list them out during the random LCS chats before and after games. She's been classified there for a while along with:

Lux (Shield/Snare/Slow/AoE damage) Anivia (Stun/Slow/Terrain Creation/AoE Damage) Morgana (Spell shield/snare/slow/stun/AoE) Lissandra (Root/Slow/Stun/AoE)

This doesn't obviously include several others, like support mages, but these are usually considered the best teamfight mages.

I personally would add:

Galio Lulu Karma who often go solo.

Now that's alittle rude... I see your point, but I'll have to give this one to @Twilightking4257, shes not the most op champ at all, not even the best teamfighting mage in the game at all. But I suppose her late game could get some nerfing but thats a whole new story. Good job putting your point out there, but don't be rude about it... ;_____;

Hopefully these changes will happen in the next patch! :) For Demicia! Garen

I totally agree! We need these changes Riot please! :D

yea, these changes needs to happen pls!

On level 1 & 18 she has an average mana regen of 6. That's similar to Morgana Swain Syndra Viktor Velkoz Veigar TwistedFate Annie Azir Anivia Cassiopeia Nidalee Malzahar Xerath , basicly every mage in the game.

You don't can give the argument she's a secondary support since Anivia Syndra Heimerdinger share the exact same mana regeneration.

So you really can't give mana regen as a problem for for her.

Her mana pool is also pretty high & shares a high spot together with champions like Annie & Syndra.

Just because Lulu recieved mana regen buffs this doesn't mean Orianna deserves the same treatment. If you want to buff something than it would be a reduction of her mana cost. Not her regen.

What I would do is give her ult a flat 100 mana cost. The increase in the mana cost just doesn't make sence add all.

Joe Dredd2 votes

you cant even spell her name what do you even know about her

baetoevn1 votes

@UR NOT PHONE LOL, didn't even notice that my bad, but I do know a lot about her ive played her since 2013 one of my favorite champions to play. One of the things I would like to see is mana sustain increased. Once again sorry about the name.

Joe Dredd1 votes

Don't take it that seriously man, i'm just playin around (even tho i sounded dickish)

Lugg2 votes

Sorry, but that would definitely make her too OP.

Truly this would not make her op at all... if you would want her late game to be nerfed make a new thread, but personally I don't think this would make her any stronger then she already is.

Lugg2 votes

She is a late game champ. To balance that out, she needs a weak early game. It's not hard to see the logic in that.

Even late game its truly hard.

Build tear. Since mana regen has all gone to shit I've started just building tear on champs like Orianna and Syndra, it's great, but you lose out on a lot of cdr, so occaisionally I will go both Tear and chalice/morello.

baetoevn3 votes

I do build Tear Of the Goddess, yet doesn't do anything really... I always build it but even T.O.T.G. cant help.

Teachan1 votes

Unpopular opinion, why not build item 3174 and item 3070 ? And throw in item 3165 because mana battery. Sure, your damage won't be amazing but you'll have mana out the booty.

e: The mana reduction on w would be nice though, good idea!

Twilíght2 votes

why get those things, you'll be like a support.. we want damage and mana sustain, not such a good personal solution.. no offense

Teachan1 votes

To each their own, I'd rather be able to spam spells and deal consistent damage vs burst then run out of mana. And having 40% cdr lets you set up plays more with shockwave.

vfactor951 votes

How does buying an Athene's or a Morellonomicon make you a support...? They're standard purchases on most mana ap mid laners

Twilíght2 votes

They're not, but if you buy all 3 items it makes u a support

vfactor951 votes

Well you would never buy all 3 because you only need one to fix your mana problems. That aside I hardly see supports buy any one of those items let alone all 3 so I still don't see how it makes you a support. If you mean to say it gimps your damage than yes that's true but again you only need one to fix your mana problems as Orianna.

Voltori2 votes

Nah, none of these would help on Orriana, trust me.

vfactor951 votes

Uh no sorry I don't trust you. Idk what rank you are but every pro I've ever seen has built Athene's or Morello's on Orianna so I'm just gonna assume you don't know what you're talking about.

lol dude keep it to yourself, why are there soo many rude people... :/

Shifune1 votes

When I play Orianna, I rush Athene's if I'm against an AP mid and I rush Archangel Staff if I'm against an AD mid because the Magic Resistance from Athene's is useless against an AD opponent, so I trade it for a shield. Never build both of them in the same game. It's how I personally play Orianna, and I find a lot of success with it.

I don't know why people say that these items don't help Orianna. You still deal tons of damage and you're able to survive better. There are multiple ways to play some champions; therefore, these items may not fit some people's play style, but that doesn't mean they don't help the champion. My play style with Orianna is more defensive, so these items compliment that. If you are more of an aggressive player, I can understand your distaste for these items.

Just noticed you wrote Orianna same as me. XD

I run out of mana as Orianna when enemy laner has blue and I don't :P

If your going oom as any champion early game it's a mechanics/mana management problem and not the champion.

In order to do damage you need mana, and Orianna uses much of her mana then all the other mages. I still truly believe she needs a solution to her mana sustain.

Its not my fault you can't hit your skillshots on champions wasting mana. FYI max W not Q. W does more damage and doesnt decline in damage like when Q passes through minions. Q is only there to reposition her ball. And I'm also guessing your type that wastes mana on the minion wave. When I look at my mana bar I see potential damage I can put on a champion. Land your skillshots...

I do land my skillshots, and it wastes soo much mana, and you're right you need to position the ball many times in order to damage, plus don't be rude, if you are going to be rude, you may leave this post please.

FooDang1 votes

Whutevs...it's not wasting mana if you hit an enemy champion with Q and follow up with a W. Its called a successful trade. If you miss with Q and W that doesn't hit a champion...Thats what I would call wasting mana.

She's the best teamfighting mage in the game while also having the capacity to bully several lanes. Even in tough matches, she can easily just not interact and easily clear waves and farm up. She's safe, she's strong at all stages in the game and she can carry teamfights. She has some mana costs that hold her back, that's a good thing. You don't just randomly buff her mana costs and act like her late game wouldn't need some sort of change. And there's no reason to make any of these changes because she's always borderline OP. She's probably the most balanced she's been in a long time and she can stay that way. I really don't want to go back to Ori being in every game and 100-0ing my entire team with utility damage.

I still disagree, she won't be any stronger at all, and she is NOT the best teamfighter in the game at all! @Vshobosy, I still think she needs these mana problems fixed, those items truly don't help that much...

I would LOVE some mana regen buffs, tbh, but I don't think Orianna is in a terrible spot.

To be fair, I don't play her a lot (support/jungle main, not mid, and people don't like Orianna support for some reason), but her teamfighting and potential wombo combos is insane (Ekko, Malphite, Vi, basically any tank or bruiser for teamfights or any mobile assassin for sticking power).

straight4free1 votes

I think she's just heavily reliant on Athene's. If they lowered her mana costs / increased her mana regen, we'd go back to the meta of infinite wave clearing and safety. I think this meta is better.
