Hello everyone. I'm currently Gold 3, with a Gold 3 MMR (at least, that's what op.gg says). I was wondering, does anyone know how placements work? Am I going to go back to bronze again? Does it go off your rank, or your MMR? If anyone could explain it to me a little, that would be very helpful. Thanks!
Kovorix1 votesIt depends how your placements go. You can get placed near gold 3 win you win everything but you won't get it and surely won't get higher placed. But you can also go back to bronze. Friend was plat 4 2 years ago and was placed silver 4 after placements.

If you will play with outstanding performance through out placements, your MMR will raise and you can easily get higher rank.
If your friend was Platinum 4 and got placed into silver 4, he probably lost a lot of games to lower MMR players.
If you consistently beat Gold/Platinum/Diamond MMR players, you will get placed into MMR you belong to.
