Are there too many slows?

You know how theres the whole mobility creep goin on in this game now, and how a champion is completely useless if you don't have 17 gap closers Leblanc Ahri ? Well, what if there weren't 15 thousand slows attached to every champion, making anyone who can't press q 3 times and be halfway back to fountain actually able to move for once in their lives?

One big thing about slows is that they do not effect the distance of gap closers, rendering slows almost useless against people that can just jump over a wall away from you and your worthless little champion that doesn't have built in flash, then spam ctrl 4 and proceed to kill you with their ranged spells. Now if you're someone like Varus getting chased into the back of dragon pit, well, good luck even making it to the wall to use summoner 4 against their Nunu . Honestly at this point in team fights it feels like everyone has their movement speed reduced to 100 for the entire duration because everyone and their mother has a slow on every single spell they have it seems.

Let me give you some examples of what I mean-

Thresh - does Flay really need a slow? for how much it does, being a slight knockback that can disrupt channels and auto attacks with damage on a 5 second cooldown and a hitbox the size of the great wall of china, does there need to be a slow on top of that? He already has a 99% slow on his ultimate, does he need another one on top of that? Maybe just make the knockback farther to compensate for taking out the slow.

Maokai - Ah yes, the guy (or tree I guess) who is known for clicking a single button on people and making his sniping squad Xerath decimate the target before his cc ends. As if he needed any more CC than his w, he has a knockup that has a slow attached to it, and another one that was added a while back on his saplings to make him even more inescapable!

Gragas - Why does this guy even exist.

Gnar - his hop makes him already insanely annoying to catch, but why does his boomerang slow you for a stupid % while being on a 2 second cooldown if he catches it? It's his main way of dealing damage along with his autos to proc his w, why does it need a slow on it? He has a movement speed steroid AND a gap closer while in mini gnar, so its not like you were getting away in the first place, but NOOOO he just has to have every possible way of staying on you like butter on a bagel known to mankind. Not to mention he has a HUGE amount of cc in mega gnar, which is where hes a front line tanky dps with giant aoe 5 hour long stuns and, would've never guessed, ANOTHER SLOW!

I could keep going on and on, but the point is, the amount of slows in this game make anyone without any form of mobility practically unable to move while in combat unless they actually have all 4 members of their team on lifeguard duty. I think removing some of them and making them actually a key part of a champion's kit instead of having one just to have one on everyone would make some champions that already have good kits able to be picked viably in the meta without having to have a complete overhaul. Make slows more rare on champions, but make them actual impacting slows, and not just 10% slows JarvanIV tagged onto every ability.

not sure if its so much the slow as much as the lack of slow resist of sorts. slows are really effective, if not too effective at shuttingdown movement speed buffs. giving certain buffs some slow resist might help.

Champions with mobility should not have slows or stuns outside of their ultimate. Their utility comes from their mobility. If removing cc from mobility champions (outside of their ult) is too much for some, then simply make slows affect the distance of dashes or at least the duration of the dash animation.

If they were going to cut back on the number of slows in the game they should also increase the strength of all slows left, meaning that slows would effect gap closers. Because currently slows are pretty weak, for the reason you stated, which allows them to be everywhere.
