Renekton's Passive

I feel that most of the community can agree that Renekton's passive is invisible and has no actual impact on him as a whole (for those who don't know, the passive gives Renekton 50% more fury gain when he is below 50% health).

This passive is, for one, incredibly lackluster and cannot be built around, nor should you even dare to build around it. Secondly, it rewards players for taking damage, and in reverse punishes players for healing/avoiding damage. With a new passive, we could give Renekton an even more unique identity and late-game viability.

I feel that a passive that revolves around Renekton's "rager", "tortured-into-insanity", and "mentally broken" archetypes could solidify Renekton's thematic identity and give us the feel of playing a psychotic butcher. What I propose is a passive mechanic revolving around Renekton applying stacks to a Champion by dealing damage to them with his abilities (and basic attacks?) Once Renekton manages to reach a certain amount of stacks within a certain time frame, he gains bonuses towards to his victim. Only one enemy Champion can affected at a time, and after they have been afflcited, they cannot become victim again for a while.

Bonuses that Renekton would gain towards his target could include: Bonus movement speed when moving towards the afflicted champion Bonus percent damage (max, current, or missing) Bonus true damage (a la Garen) Lifesteal and/or Spellvamp Reduced incoming damage

What do you think? Would this be a good passive for Renekton? Or something else entirely?

Renekton has a passive?

Having Fury seems like a Passive to me.

The bonus effects on abilities are his passive.

Taken from the actual LoL website "Renekton gains Fury for every autoattack he makes. This Fury can empower his abilities with bonus effects. Additionally, Renekton gains bonus Fury when he is low on life".

His passive is actually quite good.

Renekton's passive is bad because the rest of Renekton's kit is incredibly powerful. Not every champion can have a very powerful passive: many kits are powerful on their own as a set of four abilities without needing any extra power, and the passive is filler since every champion needs to have one.

this is a touchy subject, if they gave rene an actually passive they would have to tone him down somewhere else, he already is an extremely oppressive laner, but i do agree on a little passive change Renekton

item 3053 is pretty much what I'd imagine Renekton's passive should be. Tone it down so to not make him overly domineering, but help him scale into late game.

With that logic, any passive that activates at low health DrMundoTryndamere Irelia Karma Poppy Volibear are being punished for healing and rewarded for taking damage.

I think regardless of how oppressive people think Renekton is, his passive doesn't offer him hardly anything other than more fury for being at lower health, which sure let's him benefit from his enhanced spells more often but doesn't do anything outside of that. A lot of people can agree that it is very lacking in terms of interaction with the player, which I feel is something that does need to be changed. Bonus % sounds good, but I'd personally avoid the true damage aspect, just because of the recent surge of true damage ( Fiora Garen Gangplank & Darius but his wasn't a change, it was always there)

Yes and buff his late game ultimate health from 800 to 1600 Also make him invulnerable during his W animation

Rengar Rengar pretty much stole the passive that Renekton Renekton wished he had.

You know... I legit thought the enhanced effects on his moves was his passive. I did not know that that was not the case and that he gained more fury.

Yeah he needs a passive. Maybe his attacks do more damage with more fury, or his cooldowns are lowered with higher fury? Something to slam home that he is relentless and furious, going to try to rip you to shreds.

What if Renekton's base AD was increased by 1% for every 5 Fury that he has?

LatetotheRace10/24/2015, 7:38:22 AM1 votes

When you remove his sustain, then we can talk.

GreenLore10/25/2015, 12:08:38 PM1 votes

Uhm the fact that Renekton has a fury bar, that enhances his abilities, is also part of his passive.

And that is actually a nice passive that offers him differen things alongside his increased damage(more heal, longer stun or a double jump)

Gains %HP True Damage when battling Nasus.

Are you kidding? His passive is what makes Renekton the 1v2 double kill god that he is.
