Why does Riot insist on making tanks the strongest class in the game?

Also, why give tanks true damage, I.E Chogath which deals 1000 true damage and Amumu where his true damage is literally constant? We also have Darius where not only does he have a true damage ultimate, he's hard to kill, and his passive grants 140 bonus AD. He also gets ult resets as well. Garen Again, another hard to kill champion where you're punished for doing good against him, so he just presses the r key.Fiora and Irelia are honorable mentions too. I'm pretty sure "tank" doesn't mean "1 shot". It means soaking damage for your team, not negating all resistances with a click of a button.

Darius, Garen, Fiora, and Irelia are definitely not tanks. They are juggernauts and skirmishers. Cho'gath can be a tank, but really he is a battle mage.

That only leaves Amumu. He is sitting on a 50% winrate, so that isn't bad at all. It isn't very much true damage unless he goes AP, in which case he ceases to be a tank.

You're telling me that you see Garen and Darius building AD items? Black cleaver doesn't count, that's literally the only AD they get, then straight tank pal. That is tanking.

If Black Cleaver is your best argument, then you'd need to widen your stance on who you want to complain about. illaoi is another big contender on who benefits from the item, especially if she aren't being bullied well enough in lane.

They're not tanks. They're juggernauts, which are a different class.

Yes, I do. Just because you don't like that it contradicts your point doesn't mean BC doesn't count. It is still damage. Plus they'll often get Titanic or Steraks if ahead which also have AD.

Tanks are a class with minimal damage that specialize in CCing targets. Compare Nautilus to Darius. Darius does far more damage at the expense of little CC. Same with Garen. Those two are classified as Juggernauts. Juggernauts also can't absorb as much damage as tanks can.

Black Cleaver counts dude.

Your argument is flawed your understanding of subclasses is lacking and your complaint thread is a waste of time.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

there are no subclasses as they are completely circumvented by playstyles + builds.

you may argue "was intended" but "tank janna" "warden janna" "tank karma" "assassin garen" are things.

Ralanr3 votes

There are subclasses. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean you're right.

Same could be said for arguing against "Tank Janna" being a tank but quite frankly I've started to run out of fucks to give about what people call their builds.

Not like Janna has much reason to build AP anyway. Her kit can function incredibly well without it.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

and what do you call the LCS support karmas who build randuins, thornmail and ninja tabis because it sure as hell isn't "enchanter"

there is no title for counterbuilding. it just exists and is effective. no "subclass" is going to describe what it is youre doing or what goal you have in mind.

"tank" "carry" are all you need to know, the pros dont even use the term "mage"

Karma building armor.

Edit: people don't even bother calling supports anything other than support.

What everyone calls it is not the point. What it is designed to be is what's important as its balanced around that concept. So if we're supposed to fucking talk about the balance of a particular champion design, we need to know the goddamn direction of balance they are pushed towards, which subclasses help.

Otherwise we're just supporting complaints of, "WHY MUNDO DO SO MUCH DAMAGE FOR A TANK?!" Which leads to people thinking Mundo's damage needs to be gutted or something when that's basically all he provides.

Now granted, the boards don't have much of an impact on balance changes because we are oh so woefully inept in understanding how this game is balanced. Sorry that I want us to try and look at it from Riot's design intentions so this entire CESSPOOL of the Internet isn't viewed as a place where only idiots come to complain about Yasuo every minute.

I completely disagree that you can build tank on any champion and still perform the Function of a tank. There are rare exceptions
but I find for the Most part Tank Karma is just one Person walking around the Rift calling attention to themselves. Tank Karma / tank Janna ultimately can be ignored over taking taking objectives

Very Hard Engage1 votes

but you can, its just when referenced to someone else who does it better it questions the choice of picking the champion to begin with and what they're supposed to offer for a team.

compare DrMundo to Janna who have the all the same tank capabilities. (0 dmg reduction but just a varying amount of damage mitigation between shields + regen + heal)

Exceptions don't make the Rule

Very Hard Engage1 votes

and the rule is build what gets the win

Mordepool2 votes

Which is entirely based on enemy Team Composition. Their may be times Tank Janna is a better pick than Mundo. It can be situationally better.

What your saying is that ANY champion can build full tank and perform the duties of a Tank : Peel for ally adc, forcibly engage the team fight, disrupt enemy teams damage output.

Just based off items alone Which is absurd

Exceptions Don't make the Rule

let me know when bjerg starts using the word "vanguard" and "warden"

(spoiler he says tank, and or tanky)

Sounds like the rest of your posts. A weak argument at best, Incoherent nonsense at worst. If you wish to ever have a meaningful discussion remember to connect the point your trying to make with the context of the argument.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

let me put it in terms you can understand.

you're accepting everything riot tells you at face value and going along with whatever they say.

im telling you every single champion is unique and you should know what each individual champion can do regardless of whatever anyone else says about them.

thats the pros stance, thats my stance, you WILL also agree with me on that.

you will throw out the ridiculous notion that champions can be divided into categories because they do "basically the same job"

screw classes/subclasses.

learn all 136 champs, their abilities, kill ranges, powerspikes etc. THATS what matters. not the label you give it.

its a tank, and its a carry, its a hybrid. they are short hand terms used to describe what their aim is in game. you dont look and go "oh no the vanguard is coming for me" no, you say "amumus about to Q then R me, i better sidestep it" you do not think in terms of "we need our fighter to come deal with the vanguard" thats retarded.

Chogath only does 1k true damage to monsters and minions unless you have an unholy amount of hp on him Amumu has to actually hit you with an auto q w or r but since his passive does true damage based on how much magic is dealt you can lower it with mr Garen only gets true damage if you are the villain with Irelia you should be more worried about her q and spellblade Fiora she has to actually hit you at a certain angle to do it other than the Darius Olaf are the only true damage dealers you should worry about :P

Eh, it's very situational. A good deal of champions are designed to snowball if you don't appropriate your focus on both their strengths and weaknesses properly. Awhile ago, I'd actually decided to pick Teemo against Garen to counter him, and was able to actually bully him out of lane. Can't recall who won, but I definitely won my lane.

Also, when Cho was rekitted just a bit, I'd noticed him being played mid a lot. Was able to render him fairly useless due to my collective damage. Though with the adaptive helm, who's to say how that'll work out anymore.
