People With No Ranks Last Season Need To Be Ranked With Bronze - LOW Silver

I'm doing my placements, and whiles I understand that some people are probably doing ranks for the first time, there should be a very FINE threshold for how far up you let people with no set MMR play with.

I mean, literally, look at this match:

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2369151543/215593091?tab=stats

The Vayne was worse than a beginner bot. She was literally there for a slapstick reason. Granted, the people on the enemy team weren't super great or anything, but the Vayne was just god awful. No offence, because it was quite obvious she was new af. Also, the other team had EVERY SINGLE MEMBER aside from ONE person GOLD ranked last season. My team, on the other hand, only had TWO last seasoned ranked players. There's no possible way that should be allowed.

Placements are a small thing in the spectrum of things, but there has to be better matchmaking when it comes to these things. 31minute match, 2.5k damage. I mean, people who don't connect to the game do more damage than that.

I like that you stereotype unranked players and prejudge as Bronze or low Silver, seems like typical ranked elitist view. If you really want your problem solved, then actually relevant factors need to be considered, not just whether someone was unranked in previous seasons.

I'm using it as a staple, not a prejudice. I'm saying to do this as it's EASIER to climb out of these ranks and ruin less games as people around these ranks tend not to be that much different in skill from unranked players. We know a lot of people who are unranked are smurfs as well. It's just really ridiculous having an unranked player, who is obviously brand new to the game, playing with Gold and Plat players.

As for relevant factors, we already know the game is solely based off of wins and losses and nothing more. So, there isn't anything else that we can do about this except limiting the window of players that unranked players face. It's better to give a starting rank of, say, around bronze 3 MMR and let people work their way up from there. You can't start from the middle-higher portion of the ladder and work your way up. Starting at the bottom is not only safer, but gives more genuine experiences for the game.

Problem is that you're using "unranked" as a measure of game skill and time played. A player being unranked doesn't mean they're new. You're not saying unranked players should start low because they're new to ranked or haven't played ranked in 1+ seasons, you're saying unranked players should start Bronze because you assume/believe that being unranked means a player is Bronze level. I'm a minority unranked high MMR Normal player, and most unranked players maybe are not so good because if they were then they would play ranked, but not everyone cares for status/rank or cares to play games filled with elitists checking profiles during loading screen. I've been playing since Season 1 and have played countless games with Master/Challenger/LCS players. I've been around and active for a long time, having played LoL more than any other game, and having played 10,000+ games across all game modes, so it's offensive and annoying when players like you speak of "unranked" as all the same and new/unskilled.

But I'm talking about ranked matches, not normals. I'm saying this for more consistent gameplay. It's hard to determine the skill level of an "unranked" player, specifically because some are smurfs and some just don't rank. If it's normal games, then the matchmaking can stay the same. However, for ranks and placement matches, there needs to be more consistency for the games. It'll be really difficult to tell whether an unranked player can play at the level of gold or not.

You're getting offended when I'm not really attacking anyone. I'm just saying for more quality games, they should be ranked with people in the lower divisions and start climbing up from there. I never assumed that being unranked means a player is bronze level. I'm saying, that IF an unranked player happens to be on the lower skill division, at least they won't be ruining the ranked games. If, however, they are above that skill level it will be just one player ridiculously skilled in the game and will eventually move up the ladder, rather than that one person whose ridiculously bad ruining the game for everyone else.

You know how ridiculous it is to get a FULL team of unranked players, with varying different skill, on one team whiles the other team has people that placed gold and plat last season? I don't know the skill level of the players on my team at all. Meaning, the match was skewed before we even began. To avoid games like this, that is why I suggest that they be ranked with bronze - low silver.

The normal game matchmaking can stay, as it is a good learning experience for new people to be paired up with high ranking layers. However, for ranks, it's simply too inconsistent to say that an unranked player is good enough to start at the middle of the ranking ladder rather than at the lower end. It's better to let them thread in shallow waters before throwing them smack in the center of the ocean without realizing that they can't even swim yet.

It's inconsistency. Tbh, I wouldn't be averse to them just having new players start out at bronze 5 and then start making the climb. Anyone that belongs in silver will make it to silver etc. The starting MMR for new players is simply too high.

Like I said, just look at the match I posted. The Vayne had trouble accomplishing a simple task such as csing vs her opponent. To top if off, she did 2.5k dmg in 31minutes. That's far below "average". Considering ranks is a ladder based something, there really should be 0 problems with people starting at the bottom and beginning their climb from there, and then getting a soft reset dropping them down a few divisions every season.

This way, ranks can be a lot more progressive and they can then figure out a better way to implement some kind of placements for the following seasons after you started your climb. It's more or less placements matches that feel way too inconsistent rather than anything else.

And I already know once I get 4 wins, anything after that doesn't really matter since I already placed last season. It only matters for people who don't have any ranks attributed to their account.
