In your opinion, what role gives me the best chance at winning this game. Do i take the carry position whatever that may be? Or do i leave an important role like mid up to a potentially better player

play your best role. suddenly changing roles cause of promotion isn't really that good since you're not used to it,
pick sona supp/smite with dark harvest and follow the player who has the best score (or the jungler)
then, play carefully so you don't die too much and it is gg ;)
