Ignite sucks

Before you downvote me to all hell. If you look at it objectively ignite is only really good for getting an early kill. If you don't actually get this kill then it basically becomes useless. You can't use it in teamfights too well and it doesn't directly help with ganks other than the healing reduction.

Now if you look at exhaust it can do ignites job much better. It can screw over a flash because they are slowed, makes them do less damage so the chance of the gank failing horribly (looking at you Illaoi ) and it increases the damage the recieve so they die faster. All these points can be applied to team fights to basically turn a 5v5 into a 5v4 & 1/2.

Just wanted to post some actual gameplay because I'm tired of all these 'balance' threads, ya know?

So tell me. What do you think?

Ignite also applies grievous wounds, which is very beneficial to use on either drain/heal tanks (Vladimir DrMundo Zac etc) or lifestealing adcs (Jinx Caitlyn Graves etc).

But their are ad and ap items that can do that consistently. After you do use what are you going to do for the next 4-5 minutes? :/

I decided to be a horrible person in normals in and go Caitlyn top against a mundo. I took tp for farming purposes, no ignite. I rushed this thing item 3123 and I must say that must have been a horrible experience for him.

Ignite has value lategame, its just not typically used to secure kills. Dump it on a tank for 400 true damage.

Yep. The grievous wounds is also REALLY good against champs like Swain and Vlad.

But with exhaust you basically replace the true damage for armor shredding. And when they dive that's 5 people taking advantage of those decreased states giving almost the same if not more damage.

Yeah, I completely agree. As an Eve jungle main, I've noticed much less early game kills and first bloods. I can't help but think it's at least partially due to Ignite feeling like a quasi-Summoner Spell compared to the others. And when you have items like item 3165 and item 3033, it basically nullifies Ignite for late game play. What I think should happen is Exhaust should not have reduced Armor/Magic Res, but slightly increase its other attributes, while Ignite gains the reduction to Armor/Magic Res as a percentage (around 10% seems pretty reasonable, maybe more). That way, it basically "melts" their gear, ya know? ;)

So make exhaust a defensive spell and ignite more offensive. That makes a lot of sense actually.

Yep :) It gives them both unique qualities and balance.

Grammar is bad. Too lazy to change.

Assassins can use it to help assassinate adc's who have plenty of access to lifesteal.

It's soul purpose is to get early kills and snowball. If not, then grievous wounds.
