I first mained support, so I had my first item in slot 1, and put potions in slot 2. I usually had some potions left over until i finished my first activated item, so I didn't want to put potions in 1. I also put sightstone in 3, and control ward in 7.

Tiamat/hydra/botrk always on 1, though, having played a lot of supp recently, I found it weird to have damage actives on 1 when playing top. FotM also goes on 1
Wards/shields/zhonyas on 3.
Trinkets on 4
5 is for control wards or less used actives
6 and 7 are usually stat sticks.
I should mention I play exclusively on a laptop and haven't used a mouse in years... Lenovo trackpoint FTW.
