Damage mechanics are not adding up

Need someone to explain to me how damage is calculated because apparently I'm oblivious to how it works.

I'm going to keep it short.

Laning top lane, my opponent has 96 AD (no items, just runes / masteries) and no armor pen (tank tree / cunning) + lolnexus'd to verify.

We are on-par levels.

I grab double cloth armor for a 70 armor total = 41% reduced physical damage as stated in game when I moused over.

His un-buffed auto attacks are constantly hitting me for 115.

How does this work?

EDITED:

For the smart asses throwing out champs with buffed auto attacks, I cleared stated UN BUFFED auto attacks, but fine. I was playing vs xin, and I'm not counting his crits and also not looking at his buffed Q auto before people start posting about it. I tallied the attacks after his three-hit Q burst combo which was 115 - 115 - 290(crit). His actual Q burst combo was absurdly higher than that so I know it was unbuffed at that point because of the auto's during the chase.

This is after the 13 minute mark (when I purchased double cloth) and before 17 minutes when he finally started building 1 damage item.

Confirmed that he wasn't maxing his W first so the crit was also way over the top. Can't post lolnexus link because lolnexus only showcases games that are currently active.

"ask me who I was playing or who I was playing against" this is huge because if its jhin or tryndamere theres something i can say, also give us the lolnexus link so we can verify.

Because riotencent is bad at math and programming.

Lolking shows the Xin Zhao's last used mastery page going down ferocity and cunning and taking a bunch of damage multipliers with Fervor of Battle as the keystone.

After doing some math based on your numbers, he is level 10 which means he has 83.086 base AD + 13.05 bonus AD from runes equaling 96.136 total AD. Fervor of Battle does 63.1 physical damage on-hit at max stacks at level 10. He is doing 159.236 damage before damage multipliers/reduction.

You have 70 armor (lets use exactly 70 for this calculation since it might actually be a bit more/less by some fraction and I don't feel like checking your base armor values), but 7% of that is ignored by Battering Blows and another 15% is ignored from Xin's challenge passive. You actually have around 55.335 armor. You receive 0.64377 of the damage taken.

The damage he does is increased by 3% for Double Edged Sword, 2.5% for Oppressor, 2% for Assassin, and 5% for Merciless.

Putting this all together we get: 159.236*0.64377*1.03*1.025*1.02*1.05 = ~115.91

I did the calculation with 70 armor exactly so the actual value might be a bit off but it seems close enough. The game also rounds numbers a bit weird so even if it seems like it should round to 116 it might actually round to 115 instead.

thats becasue he kept playing and thus shows a different active mastery page than what he had during my game. He was using Grasp of Undying keystone in my game, with 12 points into cunning.

Basically everyone knows that Riot hasn't been able to calculate damage at any point in this game. You have to go more off of feel than math.

We do kinda need to know the champions involved to be certain it's not an element of their kit that you've overlooked/never known about.
