Who should I target between ADC and Soraka?

If I target the ADC Soraka will just heal him up, but if I target Soraka the ADC makes a double.

If can heavily outdamage Soraka, especially if you have burst (Someone like Jhin and Leona/Zyra for example) then focus the ADC. Soraka wont be able to outheal it.

As she gets towards level 9 and gets her W near max then it is better to focus her if she gets out of position, and if you don't burst hard or substantially outdamage her healing then focus her down.

Soraka main here. In lane you would definitely want to target soraka but the trick is to wear her down. If you poke the adc she will heal him back up eventhough it costs her 10% health but she has health regen runes and also has her Q. So what you need to make sure is to constantly poke her down and then burst her to 0hp. If that is not possible as you may not have decent poke then she is incredibly weak early laning phase i.e. before lvl 6. You have to all -in on the adc this time because she won't be able to heal as much. I know it all sounds so easy but its really hard to fight someone who plays defensively under the tower.

After lvl 6 its always best to pick on her because her healing is insane. Make your supp target her and make her leave her adc whilst you and the enemy adc 1v1 and then make your supp join the fight before soraka has the chance to heal. Although she still can use her ult but she needs to apply those constant W's on her adc to make up for her lack of damage.

Depends on the team comps. If you are getting a gank and you guys can burst the ADC then go for the ADC.. But if you can't go for Raka.. Generally speaking

Burst - focus - ADC Poke - focus - Raka

But if you don't have enough burst to kill the ADC, its not a bad idea to burst Raka.

Sometimes you have to focus both. Soraka can heal with Q. ADC can be healed by Soraka.

Things work differently depending on the elo you're in. What works in low elo doesn't always apply the higher up you go.

Snarky comments doesn't negate the fact you didn't say that until just now. Perhaps you should be more clear in conveying your thoughts in the future. AOE to deal with both does help, but it depends on what sort of kit the champion you have is playing. In a single target spell scenario, the advice given by others applies.

I said focus both. Focusing both does not mean switching between targets. In switching, you still focus one at a time, albeit a different way.

Also about the snarky: Reap what you sow.

Again you did not make that crystal clear in your phrasing. Typically it's better to focus down one as others stated.

You want to play this game of circle jerking? I'll play and make you guys shut up and keep your mouths shut.

Let me give you some realistic situations since you people love bashing on people. Also, since you think AoE doesn't exist and that focusing both is always a bad idea (which is a fallacy to begin with) let me give you some situations in which focusing both is possible:

with Hurricane. Yes it exists. Poison is your friend. Basically anyone with DoT is going to abuse their DoT. If you keep trying to DoT one person at a time, all you are doing is refreshing your DoT while dishing out the damage of your ability, not doing more damage. If you had an add-on installed, you would see this. Then again, if you played anything that is a RPG, you would know this is the case anyway. But wait, who needs poison? You can go Kindred and Ashe with it as well.
Soraka decides to hide behind adc and they switch back and forth. The more you go after the person behind the other, the farther back they go. This means you should be focusing the closest target. You believe situations go as planned? Ignorance is bliss I guess? Meanwhile you are basically chasing a singed. Taking damage while dishing out none. Good job? I guess free win for me then? Thanks?
AoE exists. Yes, deny it harder. It exists. Even AoE DoT exists. Oh no really? Yes really. Suck it up and deal with it.
Soraka heals. She loses 10% HP. Focus ADC and what happens? She gets rid of 10% of her HP to heal. Oh wait, but she has Warmogs? Yeah, better not switch to her before she hits 6 seconds. Sounds like a terrible idea. Meanwhile, she gains HP. You win, right? Also, the ADC she is healing? Squishy AF. So now you have to choose between basically a health tank healer and squishy adc. Obviously, **you would **choose one and not the other. Meanwhile smarter people would make sure her passive doesn't go off (which actually means focusing her multitasking) while focusing the ADC. But hey, please don't focus me so my ADC never dies. Haha.
Teamfight? Can't split up your team to focus both? Have you played this game before? If Soraka and ADC are carrying, you better expect them both to get focused down. You won't even have to say a word and they will both be focused no matter how much denial you spout here. Yes supports can carry. It's called CC. It's actually pretty good at getting you killed and making you do no damage or less damage. But hey, league is clearly about only laning phase. Huehuehue.
AoE is focus if it means getting rid of certain passives and other situations. Say a Malz and Soraka exist. Malz has his shield up. Soraka has Warmogs. then you see a Garen. Guess what? AoE gets rid of all of the passives at once. But hey, let's give them the advantage and target them one by one and waste time. You clearly never played a MMORPG if you think focusing a group of mobs isn't focusing.
Did you know there is a thing called multi-tasking? Your definition assumes it means focus on one thing. lul

If you deny any of this, you clearly never payed attention in this game. There is actually a time where both get focused. It is called team fights or when they keep switching out. But hey, keep losing your trades and increase my win rate more while losing with champions that should be my counter pick. Dear God, please do.

Her heal has a relatively high cooldown so you just have to play around it. In an all-in she will be able to heal her AD maybe twice, so account for the additional.. 300 HP or something.
