Idea for splitting marksman into two subclasses

http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/gameplay/dev-blog-classes-subclasses Here's the post for context for those who haven't seen it

Every other class in the game is going to have two distinct subclasses, and they say marksman are too similar to split up.

My first thought was that Marksman generally fall into two categories, I would call them "Rangers" and "Hunters"

"Rangers" are people like Ashe, Kog'Maw, Caitlyn, and Jhin, who excel by staying at long range and can unload a lot of damage from there. They tend to do best when a team protects and supports them, and can often unload obscene amounts of damage in the right position, frequently to multiple targets. They usually use extra range on autos or powerful long range spells.

Ashe Caitlyn Jhin Ezreal Jinx KogMaw MissFortune Sivir Tristana Twitch Varus

"Hunters" are people like Vayne, Lucian, and Kindred, who can fight their opponents more aggressively. While they still need a team to protect them, they can often do more on their own, some of them even being powerful duelists. They do best when a team can set up their damage and chase potential while still having enough peel to keep them alive. They usually rely on mobility or debuffs to stay alive and have less raw damage potential than Rangers.

Corki Draven Graves Kindred Lucian Quinn Vayne

I don't know what I'd call Urgot and to be honest hes pretty unique.

Obviously there's a few places that it's not a perfect definition (Ezreal is very close to between). Overall, however, these two things seem to be the general designs behind most marksman - either they sit in a safe position behind tanks and unload anus-destroying damage, or they're slippery and persistent combatants and always threaten to turn or clean up a fight if left unchecked. I will say there's a decent bit more Rangers right now, but a couple of them could be argued as a Hunter and it still seems like a clear duality among the marksmans.

TL;DR split marksmans into range and utility vs mobility and dueling.

Feel free to say whatever you think.

It needs to be 3 subclasses for marksmen, 1 focused on auto attackers, 1 for casters, and 1 for utility marksman

Auto attacker based marksman should be hypercarries: Draven, Jinx, Kog, Tritina, Twitch, and Vayne

While the only one of them Draven might actually fall off late game he still packs a heavy amount of power through auto attacks in order to shred through the enemy team, Sivir would also be a hyper carry however her utli shifted her more into utility

Utility based marksman I don't have a proper name for sadly but it includes: Ashe, Caitlyn, Jhin, Kalista, Kindred, and Sivir

While Caitlyn might shift from caster and hyper carry late game she's more of a utility marksman just from the sheer amount of pressure her traps can bring to a fight fight along with the amount of benifits she brings to team setups, Jhin same as cait

Caster marksmen I also don't have a name for but it would include: Corki, Ezreal, Graves, Lucian, Miss fortune, Quinn, Teemo, Urgot, Varus, and although for some reason jayce isn't currently a marksman he would also fit into caster marksmen

I don't think I have to explain any of these however just in case the reason why quinn is a caster marksman is she relies on her nearsighted a lot and she doesn't really pack damage if her passive isn't on the target which is why she has to cast skills pretty often to get damage off.

If any of the ones I said don't belong tell me and I'll either say why it should belong in that spot or might decide to move it, however this is the proper subclassification that marksman should have.

Um..how are Jhin and Kindred utility marksmen?

Jhin sets up a large amount of picks with his W, his traps may not feel as impactful as they should be however they have a large amount of map presence for glimpses of vision, and his ulti can make picking random enemies for your team a lot easier.

Kindred packs utility mostly due to ultimate like sivir both are largely unimaginably valuable team benefiting ultimates.

All marksman are autoattackers, some just more than others. The idea with this wasn't to split them along "these ones use abilities for damage and these don't" and instead on their actual play patterns, akin to how the other champs are split up. Marksman are always autoattack focused, some just have high damage abilities as part of what makes them unique.

"Rangers" have team utility, are often hypercarries, and work best when a team focuses around them defensively. They tend to have the ability to blast down entire teams with insane right clicks.

"Hunters" are marksman with selfish utility, are often strong duelists, and work best when a team focuses around them offensivley. They tend to have the ability to dodge threats, chase, and clean up entire fights.

You didn't classify jayce, urgot and teemo and a lot of marksman aren't cleanly defined:

Mf, Ezr. trist, and twitch don't have team utility, Jhin can't blast down an entire team.

Twitch, Trist can also fit hunter properly

Kindred has more utility than a lot listed, works best in a team and can blast down an entire enemy team as well, Corki has powerful long range spells as well as powerful at blasting down the enemy team along with the team utility he brings with packages

Most of the issue is just roles stated are kinda vague because some of the listed don't follow the description or follow the other one better. Although I also have to fix hypercarry description a bit, I feel seperating by which marksmen are more focused on AA/utility/casting is a cleaner subclass placement then saying vague descriptions which aren't fully followed like how riot fixed the juggernaut description so it properly fits skarner as opposed to before.

Urgot would be a ranger.
