Advice for using talon?

Nimblepaw·9/11/2018, 6:43:18 PM·1 votes·2,082 views

Hey guys, I've been playing talon since s3, but after his rework I stoppws playing him. I recently picked him back up and am looking for tips. I find it hard to all in early, and that I'm usually a prime target for ganking. In team fights I usually hit and run. Should I be playing more passively or aggressively?

You should, in most lane matchups, be aiming for first blood and the ability to snowball yourself. If you dont have your lane opponent at 50% Hp by levels 2-3 then you are playing too passive and missing your window. His early kill potential is heavily underestimated and many opponents will not respect it.

Take W level 1 : and abuse this ability whenever you can hit the minions, and your opponent.

Take Q level 2: This will allow you to close the gap on your low hp opponent. / also allows you to sustain a little bit if they are poking you back.

Take W again - or E: This one is a judgement call for myself personally. Ill double down on W if i dont get the kill by level 2, and i know i can get it during level 3.

Ill take E level 3, if i am concerned about the jungler, or if i flash under their tower for the early kill and need to leap away to safety.

If you landed a few W's level 1 then your opponent should be around 50-65% by level 2. At level 2 if your W hits twice, then Q in for the Kill - AA - then Ignite.

The bleed, electrocute, and ignite will kill practically any target.

From there you should be able to kill your opponent almost anytime they step up to cs and dont respect you, You should also be hunting the jungler at scuttle crabs, and raptors. Once you hit 6 + you should be roaming Bot for easy clean ups.

gotta be able to use his passive stacks plus the crit on Q and you can easily all in at lvl 2 with ignite. that is where his big burst comes from. since the rework they took his E and made it wall jump basically taking a damage ability from him. to compensate the passive 3 stack plus the Q crit damage in melee range is there to make up for it.

Did you know, Talon is responsible for 25% of first bloods?

People need to farm, use that to your advantage.

When they come forwards, use your W to get a stack on them. If they don't dodge the second proc then you can flash Q + Ignite all-in them.

Another option is to jump forwards to one of their caster minions using Q (make sure it will kill the minion to give you the 50% cooldown refund) and then use that closeness to help you land both parts of your W. The second Rake should slow them which gives you time to close the gap either walking or by using your Q when it comes back off it's reduced cooldown.

Level 2 : W > summoner 4 > Q > AA > summoner 14

and don't forget electrocute

also this seems stupid to state but need to learn how to position correctly , know which targets you need to focus ( the squishy as raka for team fights ) or squishy supports , the adc if they are behind, mid lane mage, etc. dont focus the mundo/shens etc (im assuming you are aware of this )
