So I've always looked at the boards

I always look at the boards and I notice everytime everyone is angry and upset. Not only that it is usually JUSTIFIED. (btw league is still apart of me, thats why i check boards, though i refuse to touch the game)

I have personally quit league roughly 4 months ago because it caused anger issues n' such in me. If this game does nothing but frustrate you, then simply quit playing. I'm not telling you to quit complaining, im telling you to quit hurting yourself. Mentally hurting yourself is just as bad is physically doing it. Before I quit I did absolutely nothing. All I did was hit Diamond on my main account and felt satisfied, but it led to nothing. After quitting I began drawing and I'm finally starting to get a grasp on it.

TL:DR League make you mad, then quit it. Save yourself, no one else will.

Yeah Ive made that decision yesterday too. I wont quit playing forever, but whats the point when every game is just a frustrating coinflip with the occasional fun game?

I completely agree with you.

I understand the reasons behind the anger and frustration, but what I don't understand is the mentality as if it's being forced upon someone.

I continue playing this game because it's what my friends play. I don't find it enjoyable to play alone, if anything I find it painful to play alone. But to me, it seems that so many of these complaints, whether they have merit or not, are about things which are optional.

"I hate ARURF and it's Riot's fault"

Okay, have you tried not playing ARURF?

"AD sucks and I feel useless all game"

Okay, have you tried not playing AD?

"Riot, your skins are overpriced and I hate them!"

Okay, have you tried not buying them?

"Matchmaking sucks, ranked is a shitshow!"

Okay, have you tried not playing ranked?

I'm not sure what it is, but it seems that people feel like they have no option, that they have to tow the line, individuality and personal choice be damned. On one hand, everyone is the God of their universe, and every opinion they have should be the law, and on the other, they are slaves, victimized by things outside of their control and it's at the hands of someone else they are forced to do something they no longer enjoy.

Perhaps people feel a certain attachment to something they've spent so much time enjoying. One could say they've invested their time, but I don't consider that to be true. An investment implies you will get a greater reward in the future for what you invest today. If one truly considers their time playing League an investment, yet they are only getting negativity in return, they're not that great at investing.

It's time to take a break.

It's not as justified as you think. There's a reason the board, despite it being where one should be the closest to Rioters, doesn't have any real red responses compared to the subreddit when it comes to game balance and ideas (Aside from Meddlers QGT). You literally can't go a day without seeing many threads just screaming about why Riot sucks. It's genuinely absurd. The gameplay and GD boards are essentially a collection of entitled people who spend more time complaining about the game than actually playing it.

Memes and Games is top notch though, always quality.

I'm pissed off mostly at reworks. You know, because they all fucking suck.

...and maaaaaybe once or twice because of certain elements on boards, but that's a minor thing for me.

Thing is, i like the game. I like playing it, and seeing that Victory screen is still pretty satisfying for me, and i don't really mind OP characters that much. It's sad that we lose people because of how seriously players take games today, but i guess nothing will change that.

The game is designed to breed toxicity. Staying away is the best thing for everyone.

Welcome brother. I've been free of league for over 3 years.

Just stop playing isn't a solution that's applicable to everyone. Stop passing it off as some easy answer like those dumb late night get rich quick commercials.

What if I still enjoy the game itself, but it's Riot's management of the game that frustrates me?

For example, why is Twisted Treeline being even more neglected? Despite Normal SR granting Mastery tokens, Ranked TT somehow still isn't "competitive enough" for them. Moreover, the two most recent events and Passes have specifically excluded 3v3s. Ranked Treeline games don't count towards the Ranked Season 2019 commemorative Missions. How does that make sense?

Then there's all the resources thrown at Nexus Blitz. The temporary mode that's possibly being made permanent got more balance changes than ARAM and TT, which are permanent, have gotten in several years combined. Plus, there's the fact that NB got balance changes at all when Riot specifically stated that map-specific balance changes for strength were no longer being considered. Blitz also got more advertisement (e.g. news posts, devblogs) than Treeline has ever gotten.

It stinks that League itself continues to be (mostly) enjoyable while the environment outside the game continues to be atrocious. Riot's not inexperienced with having multiple game modes either. Similar issues have been around since before Dominion got removed years ago. It just feels increasingly likely that Riot's gathering up another flimsy justification and abysmal consolation before trying to push people onto the Rift again.

I think people need to stop taking a game so seriously. That's why people are getting mad. You don't need to win every game, and you need to learn to enjoy (or at least be okay with) games you lose.
