Auto-pathing of champs is terrible

I don't know if it's been altered recently or not so recently but I'm increasingly noticing that I'll click for the champ to move in one direction and they go the opposite way. I don't know if it's the algorithm trying to find most literal path to that spot at the exact moment you click but if I want my champ to move to the right, I would rather have it be smart and wait until the way opens up instead of my champ walking the other direction to get around an obstacle and right into the other team.
