A suggestion for improving Cass
First a disclaimer: I'm not a Cass main, just a guy who owns her trying to get feedback on an idea for improvement.
First of the impression that I'm getting is that Cass on the whole, from the beginning, has 2 major groups of people who like her playstyle.
The Poisoners, or people who like dealing immense damage over time to enemies with her multiple poisons. (For the sake of disclosure, I would probably fit this category)
The 'E-spammers' or people who liked her rapid fire twin fang attacks to dish out tons of damage.
Since old Cass required both (leaning more towards DoT poison) she sortof appealed to both camps, but more to the damage over time camp because there are fewer champions who deal this sort of 'burn' strategy that arent heavily single target or full committal based (Such as Swain and Malzahar), as opposed to high spam single target/aoe damage enemies (Ryze and Karthas come to mind).
This made her rework changes very frustrating for those playing her who fall into the poisoner camp, because she now relies even more heavily on E spam to deal damage at all. This takes away their major reason for choosing her in the first place, and understandably given the few alternatives.
As such I thought of an idea that would try and bridge the gap between the two camps.
In summary what if Cass was all about the poisons, with twin fangs there to help her MAINTAIN her poisons?
Here's the idea:
Make her Q and W more damaging like before, but for a shorter duration (say, make it do damage tics every .5 seconds instead of every second like Morgana's pool). This requires that she hit enemies more times to deal more damage early on, as i'll explain later. Make her E double (maybe even triple?) the duration of her damage over time per hit and reduce its damage significantly (more scaling rather than base damage).
Make those stunned by her ult receive maximum duration of her DoT.
Keep her passive but change it so that instead of free stats, she gains increased duration of her poisons and potentially increased duration of her poison's side effects, and up to triple stacked poison duration. Maybe keep her healing so that now she has to survive while her poisons do their magic.
With these changes, players have more options when facing her 1v1, she'll have a weaker earlier game (she needs to hit you with both Q and E to get significantly increased damage against you, so so long as you avoid both you should be fine). At the same time she should have a much stronger later game provided adequate protections (given that she now can deal heavy damage over time to enemies, and increase the duration on prime targets)
This would allow players to need to use both her poisons and her E more than they do now or did before (Now its poison once and you NEED to E spam for damage, before that later game you just needed to land Q and E was just a bonus). I don't know if this is the best approach but I'd like to know what people thing given the number of complaints that I've seen on Cass so far.
