Hey there, fellow Summoners! Just thought I'd throw this board out there to get some feedback from you all personally. With the addition of the Rift Herald coming to Summoner's Rift in the new set of Preseason changes, things are gonna change pretty heavily for junglers, myself included as a jungle main. With the newly mutated Scuttle Crab residing in the Baron Pit up until the mighty Baron Nashor takes its place, an entirely new objective is added to the course of the game. By granting global gold to your team and substantially empowering the one who deals the finishing blow, Dragon is no longer the only important jungle objective! Firstly, let's review just what slaying the Rift Herald does for you:

  • 50 global gold to everyone on the killing team
  • Grants the newly-added Doom's Eve buff to the killer, which grants:
    • 10% increase to all Damage (except True Damage) and 40 bonus MS
    • Enhanced Baron Recall
    • Empowers nearby allied minions with increased damage and attack speed

Personally, as a jungle main myself, I see a HUGE amount of opportunities for this new buff to be tremendously impactful to the course of a game. You have all sorts of potential uses for this buff, be it claiming it for yourself to boost your clearing speed and ganking potential with increased damage, movement speed, and a reduced recall time, or granting it to a fellow top or mid laner who is struggling in the laning phase by granting their lane empowered minions in addition to the previously-mentioned stat boosts. With it's location and limited availability, it will likely also change how your other lanes behave as well, such as by encouraging top and mid laners to roam a bit more in the earlier game. It even adds more flexibility to a jungler's route by making Dragon less of a "absolute" priority and instead offering a little bit more variety.

Now it's YOUR turn! I want to hear what YOU think this new camp will do for the game! What do YOU think of the Rift Herald?
