Warding

I know I should buy the warding trinket if I am lane solo, thats obvious. But what if I am on bot lane duo? Should I grab the sweeping lens if I know my support (or if I am the support) has good CC and can bush camp? Also, I have started seeing value in getting those pink wards- I just don't know where to put them. Do I stick mine near dragon, in my jungle near a buff, or in the enemy jungle near their buff? (assuming no other wards on the screen besides standard lane wards) Thanks again. Sorry for spamming the forums with questions.

I hope my threads aren't becoming taboo with them being everywhere, just trying to get a good hold on things (found cool tricks to getting ahead in lane finally....something along the lines of "I know I counter the other enemy laner, let me stand behind his minion wave and zone him off his own xp" and also the power of aoe).

Remove this from your post - it really has nothing to do with the subject of your post - and I'll change my downvote to an upvote :)

I like grabbing warding no matter what, because:

  • I can't always count on my partner to ward

  • I like to know when they're in range of cc, more than I like being invisible (but they already know I'm in the bush)

  • Once you/your support gets a sightstone, you can switch to a sweeper

  • Bot lane, the best place to put a pink ward is in the tribush (no matter which side you are on).

    • However, know that you won't be able to protect it unless you're winning the lane.
    • If your lane partner did the tribrush ward, you can pink dragon, the round bush near dragon, the river bush between dragon and the lane, or either of the lane bushes, depending on how pushed you are.
  • Don't worry about spamming, as long as each question has merit! There are tons of people here to answer stuff :)

Thanks for that. Do you ever need to ward baron? I haven't had many games with Baron getting hit.

I was talking about places to ward that are useful while you're in lane.

Once you're out of lane, there's a whole different set of places to ward, which include baron.

At your level, you probably don't have too many runes/masteries yet, so that makes everyone weaker (but baron isn't weaker to compensate), so it's harder to take baron. Baron requires some coordination (making a wave in bot lane, for example) to take, which you're still learning.

Generally, baron is also a risky play, since when you're in range of it, it shreds your armor and MR, making you weaker if the enemy decides to engage on you. So at lower levels (and lower elos), baron isn't done as much.
