The last straw for the crit meta...
I have been a big fan of Jhin as an ADC, primarily due to the unique expression of skill in his set that used to set him apart from most ADCs. He relies on the forth shot both in his autoattacks and his ult. This pushes the summoner to strategize in a fight and also provide his foes a clear window of opportunity to take advantage. I don’t think Jhin was ever intended to be an auto-attack abomination like Tristana. Well, those days are over I think. I played a game against a Jhin that was half decent. He built %100 crit chance. Full build, he could auto attack for 2600 damage before any armor. As a full build Kassadin, I had little over 2600 hp. So he could two shot me with just auto attacks. He doesn’t need to worry about running out of shots, doesn’t need to worry about ult, kiting or anything else. If I can’t 100-0 him with a single rotation, he could kill me with no effort. Given the fact that he had Leona as support, I wasn’t always able to do that. Long story short, the variety and cheapness of crit items in this game pushes even an adc like Jhin to build crit chance. I have seen Lucians do the same thing nowadays. The build variety doesn’t exist, which is turning even niche adcs into crit horrors. This game shouldn’t be “one shot an adc or get one shotted by them.” There is no thinking in that, no strategizing, no decision making, no satisfaction. Crit Jhin used to be a meme build, but it seems to be becoming the meta because it works so well and doesn’t cost much gold. If this is what you want Riot, why bother designing new adcs with seemingly distinct skill sets? Why not just make a blank champ, call it Crit Damage Carry, give it any ability that they won’t need anyways, and reallocate those resources towards new skin designs, so people can have the illusion that they are playing different champs. TLDR: Crit damage meta sucks, it’s killing the fun in this game.
