You took away Taric's point and click...

Ryze snares, not stuns, you can still fight back.

Not saying it isn’t annoying as fuck though. I firmly believe they need to remove that Ryze’s point and click snare to be able to really balance him.

It is a root, not a stun. All of your movement will cease and you can not issue any movement related command, but you can still attack and retaliate.

Secondly, the root only lasts 0.75 seconds without augmenting with E first. And when it is augmented by E, it lasts 2 seconds, sure, but you should also remember by doing so it uses 2 out of his 3 attack spells (ulti is entirely utility) and heavily disrupts his spell rotation/combo and subsequently guts his DPS. In other words, Ryze has to choose between DPS or strong CC.

Also since in early game where Ryze is handicapped by his shitty base damage and his extreme mana costs, he can not clear waves effectively to get you, and on top of the fact Q can be block by anything, it thus makes it so that in lane phase you can simply just stand in the middle of a minion wave and ignore when Ryze roots you. Just make sure you leave the wave before Ryze tosses the Q into a wave spread with flux, which only comes after at least 2 rotations of casting E.

EDIT: People way overrate Ryze's W, his old issue of W has been solved eons ago when they force Ryze to choose between strong CC and DPS, as well as things like making Ryze suck in teamfights quite hard. His current issue is his mana scaling and almost everything about R.
