I know why "hole" is spelled that way

When you take a piece out of the whole, it now has a hole because it's missing a variable.

Etymology of the word "Hole": "Old English hol (noun), holian (verb), of Germanic origin; related to Dutch hol (noun) ‘cave’, (adjective) ‘hollow’, and German hohl ‘hollow’, from an Indo-European root meaning ‘cover, conceal’."

This post probably doesn't belong in "Gameplay", since it has nothing to do with current game balance or recent gameplay changes.
