Why do I see Fiora in ranked...?

I honestly have to ask, because this chick Fiora against any serious top lane or mid lane strong pick will usually get thrashed hard from what I've seen and experienced myself in normals. Yeah she has good damage, and great stats, but her actual sustain is bad until you grab item 3074 along with item 3072 or item 3508. This is still only solving part of the problem, as her poke and harass may look good, but is actually bad against most Mid lane champs, and some AP Top Lane picks like Diana. Then you have her durability... which feels like there is none at all, which makes not only laning vs tanks, but also Jungling hard early on as you're not going to be that healthy after farming camps imo or taking as much hits as the other guy. She doesn't even have an escape mechanic like Riven to fall back on when in need and relying on summoner 4 won't cut it.

I just don't get the point of Fiora as so many others are better, and cost less, which means IP or RP can go towards other champs, or more importantly... runes/rune pages if you aren't +30. Any feelings why she would or would not be worth it? I don't think she's viable, but that's only my feelings atm. If you feel otherwise or want to state your perspective on her then feel free.

IIRC, she's good for carrying solo in lower elos, but as you climb up and teamwork is emphasized over lone wolf carrying (I think it's plat?) she falls off due to her lack of teamfighting utility and escapes, forcing her to split-push or clean-up after fights (which the apc and adc generally are supposed to do). Unless you have a Galio or something in the mid lane, the jungler is usually forced to play a tank or bruiser to compensate for teamfights.

Trust me, had a ranked game with no tanks because the top laner chose Fiora (nothing against that, but nobody really thought about our team comp). As the adc, I had absolutely no peel or anyone to defend me. I mean, I don't like to complain about my hand not being held, but if you got a team with no frontline who do you think the enemy's going to focus first?

Fiora is one of those secretly strong champions no one seems to talk about, she can snowball out of control, much harder than many of the champions the forums like to complain about, and hard carry games. Her only real weaknesses are that she is auto attack dependent and that she has no escape, but she's such a strong fighter that the lack of escape is only a problem if you get caught out. I don't think her win rate in plat+ has dipped below 52% in months, maybe over a year.

Fiora is fine, imho, an underpicked champion who does her role very well.

she beats most ranged tops and autoattack tops. If she gets even 1 kill she snowballs harder than Riven, and doesn't fall off the way Riven does since she is an autoattacker. You have to dominate her from level 1 to win, but if you win, you win hard.
