This Rework is a total disappointment

Changing Aatrox from AA reliant champ to ability caster, who decided this, removing his on hit passive totally made him a new Riven, that’s not what we wanted, from a champ that needs to manage and play around his passive, to a champ that only requires you to repeatedly pressing on your buttons, this is not acceptable.

I remember Reav3 saying that they don’t change the reworks in order to make the champion mains leave, now most of Aatrox mains are leaving due to not giving him an on hit passive and changing him to a noob champ like Riven, who only requires pressing your buttons repeatedly.

Who is the one who decided to remove on hit Aatrox passive, and made him as a new Riven?, as someone who was a fan of Riot Jag, I expected at least seeing AP and AS scaling, but as always why would they give attention to Aatrox, they made us wait for a year and ended up giving us a new Riven, a Justicar skin that worth 260 RP even 260 is too much they made it shitty worthless skin, then removing the on hit passive and the attack range on ult, and giving us the worst dash in the game that has the lowest range, where is the magic dmg that scales with AP on his ult, wtf is this rework???, and our champion has turned from a champ that had a good survivability against ganks, to a champ that is easily to camp.

This is shit I’m leaving this game if they didn’t fix Justicar Aatrox and if they didn’t add on hit passive attack range on ult and the magic dmg on ult, I don’t care about getting bonus AD or bonus MS for “1 sec” omg 1 sec will change the team fight and will make it winnable, WTF!!!!!, and they should made attack speed viable, I only cry and regret supporting this game and paying more than 500$ on this shit

My only problem is that he doesn't really have the ability to Duel properly anymore. Since he appears to be weak in close combat, due to his Q having a bit of a mixed range between each cast, which can open windows for opponents to engage on Aatrox while he is casting his Q.

But I gree with what you said. Howee Riot did say this was going to be one of the largest gameplay updates they've done in a while. This certainly hits that mark. In no doubt Rit will add some minor changes like the radius of Q maybe or cast speed or something, since when Swain got his rework he later on had his W radius increased because of how easy it was to dodge it.

I'm no Aatrox main, but I don't think it takes one to realize how different this new kit is from the original champion, and not in a good way. As much as I personally have issues with the way autoattacks are designed in League, and with how Aatrox's autoattack reliance caused him issues in the past, I fully agree that he absolutely deserved to remain an autoattack-focused champion. In fact, this rework should likely have been a sterling opportunity to dig even deeper into that, and look into ways of making Aatrox a champion with a diverse range of autoattacks, using stances, three-strike effects, on-hit modifiers, etc. The fact that his rework ditched his autoattack gameplay almost completely is worrying, because if there were even some small potential to explore new autoattack-based gameplay, that is the direction Riot should have taken with Aatrox.

What I also dislike about this new kit, aside from the fact that it borrows far too much from other kits, is that it also does this thing that happened in other VGUs, where some of Aatrox's new features sort of pretend to be there, while not actually capturing the essence of what they meant to his players. He has a self-rez, but now it's on his ult and kinda secondary to his combat steroids, and the main steroid on his ult is a bunch of stats that aren't really that unique or interesting. He has his old Q on his third Q, kinda, but it's part of a three-strike combo that does not match his old gameplay at all, even though there was no real reason to change that. He has on-hit damage and on-hit healing, but both are front-loaded and have no resemblance to his iconic three-hit toggle. This is a flaw that's appeared in previous VGUs, but this feels like the worst case of it, because while previous champions needed their gameplay to change profoundly, the same I don't think really applies to Aatrox.

What he needed at the end of the day was something like Warwick's update, imo, where some of his abilities got updated to give him more options and make him more balanceable, without completely changing him. Instead, it looks like the devs who worked on him didn't even want to bother looking into what made him appeal to players, and instead decided to make a new kit from scratch (or, rather, from Riven).

They could use nocturn formula for his passive (each aa reduce passive cd by 1 on minion and 2 on champion)

I have to agree 100% with this. AS Melee Champions are reworked to be Melee Casters everytime. Warwick Evelynn now Aatrox.

The only one they alow to have a AS playstyle is Yasuo . MasterYi Jax Udyr and Tryndamere will be reworked one day because they are not flashy champions and they will stop to have AS in their kits.... just like Aatrox .

They dont even give a choice to ppl to choose between a Caster or AS playstyle. They simply remove any scaling related with AS from the champ and turn them in something... completely different.

They don't rework champs to please champion mains. If they did, reworking champions would almost always be a bad idea. The people who main the champ now main him because of current Aatrox. It goes without saying that they wouldn't want a major update.

They rework champs for the rest of the playerbase; it creates healthier gameplay and better personalities. Aatrox, prior to this rework, has always been talked about (by the wider community, not mains) as a missed opportunity. He could have been cooler, more threatening, and better tied into the lore that we all care about. They succeeded at that, and history says that most people are probably going to be happy with it in the long run.

Don't you realise that the game changes with every patch... And that champions need to be changed to be effective in the current game position. If the champions are outdated they will be weak...So please...

Good. Aa reliant champs are obnoxious to face and frankly boring to play as one. You dont get to play, you just right click on the one that you want to kill.

Ap? Excuse me? His ap scaling in ulti is useless unless you go ap. Thank god they are going to take it out. I can finally play aatrox on his full potential. Also screw atk speed scalings. He cant opt to atk speed since he is on the frontline.

Im 100% sure they will bring it back. Every champ that has an increase in size (minus lulu's ulti) also gains an increase in range.

He is a juggernaut. What the hell do you expect? Besides the dash's role is to help land the q edge's.

No? Look man i might not be a aatrox main, or anyone with enough experience with him. Yet even i understand some things. He had BAD survivability to ganks since he was susceptible to cc. Cc lock is the one thing that i hate the most when i play aatrox. If you are cc you cant aa. No aa, no lifesteal. With his new kit he will be able to heal with his abilities too. And there is a chance that his q are unstoppable considering how big their wind up are.

I agree on that one. And to be totally honest, its the only thing i hate in his new kit. While the movement speed buff is good number wise, it feels boring and out of place when you take into account its name. World Ender, yet all he gains is a small amount of ad, an increase to his size, his revive and a flat amount of movement speed (and i didnt forget about the fear on minions).
