I've placed more wards, had better k/d/a, taken just as many turrets, and even got drags+baron as jungle Garen but only ever got B+~A-, which I assume is because I always had under 100 farm even in 1 hour games.
Because farming = Gold generation. 10-15 cs = 1 kill. If you are laning against someone that you are not allowing to farm and you are ahead of them by 50 CS, that is the same as being ahead 3+ kills. Their jungler can gank and help them kill you 2 times and you will still be ahead of that person despite your score being 0-2-0 and theirs being 2-0-0.
Because you are being compared to other people. Why should the highest grade be awarded to someone who didn't play exceptionally well in all aspects of the game when compared to other players?
I've gotten S ranks when I thought I played badly in and A or B ranks when I played hella awesome. It makes no sense.
