Please provide some sort of ability to counter grievous wounds

Say you're playing Soraka. Every role (except support, I guess) has an item they can build that can instantly shut you down to half efficacy. Mages can build Morello's, ADCs can build Executioner's Calling, and tanks/bruisers can build Bramble Vest. I'm fine with Morello's, but the other two grievous wounds items cost less than a thousand gold, and (with some small variation at times) are often easily added to their build anyway.

Bramble Vest was an item designed to stop ADCs with lifesteal from using tanks as big walking sacks of hit points. Executioner's Calling is to stop drain mages from being completely dominant in the late game. But in Solo Queue, when you can't tell your ADC "Hey, stop attacking the Malphite for one second so I can heal you", Soraka becomes little more than a glorified Ocean Drake, where it's only really worth healing them out of combat. This especially hurts when your ADC has a Runaan's Hurricane, and may accidentally tap the Malphite every time they attack.

For this, I have two proposed solutions: A) Give Soraka (or other supports) the ability to cleanse grievous wounds. Maybe just an added buff to her E, where allies who stand in the circle are immune to grievous wounds, and then more time equal to the duration of the root. This gives you the ability to react and be useful in the middle of a teamfight, but you have to make an impactful decision.

B) Change grievous wounds so that the first instance of major healing (say 10% or more of their max HP) removes grievous wounds after reducing that instance of healing. This is so you can do a quick W-R combo on Soraka in the middle of a fight without it only restoring around 400 hit points.

There's a difference between building to counter a skillset, and cutting a champion's efficacy in half. Think an item that provides a 3-second duration summoner 3 to anyone you autoattack, with no cooldown. Zed is not completely shut down by the enemy team having a Zhonya's or a Guardian Angel. Those items have a 2-minute and 5-minute cooldown, respectively. If you can bait or force out their abilities, you have a huge window to take advantage of them being down. My problem with grievous wounds is that they are automatically applied with no chance of counterplay besides "don't be in combat".

Grevious wounds is there to counter healing. Morello only applies it to low health targets. Executioners calling only to ones they've hit. And bramble is to people who hit them. Counter building doesn't "instantly shut you down"

Did you even read my post?

I'm fine with Morello's.

"Executioner's Calling only to ones they've hit." - Why on earth would you need healing if you're not getting hit?

So basically, you're saying that the perfect plan of attack to avoid grievous wounds is to not attack and to never get attacked? If my Twitch missteps and finds himself in combat with a Draven, I want to be able to heal him before he gets 3-shot. But with Grievous Wounds how they are, I can't do that.

I think you're entirely misunderstanding the idea behind my post. I'm not saying that these items "instantly shut you down" (which was taken entirely out of context), they just make it so it's almost entirely pointless to try to heal someone in combat, when your heals would be much better off being saved for outside of combat. I said "instantly shut you down to half efficacy", not "instantly shut you down to 0 efficacy".

If your twitch missteps towards a draven, he deserves to get hit hard. If you want to be able to save him in situations like that, you should play braum so you can jump in and shield your ally for a short duration. It would be too op to be able to save him with heals while you stand way in the back with CC and a global heal with no counter play available.
