Yes, yes, i know: another Katarina complaint thread.

But seriously: Voracity is the only reason, THE ONLY REASON, this champion is even complained about.

Voracity is Kat's reset mechanic. All her basic CD's reset and her ult CD is reduced by about 20-25% on kill or assist.

The assist bit is what I find incredibly stupid. She doesn't need to kill anyone or even land her ultimate to reset her entire kit: she just needs to do a teeny bit of damage and have someone else kill for her.

This basically removes any point in counterplay for Kat: Sure, your tank or someone can CC her out of her ult, but it doesn't mean anything unless she dies. If she doesn't die off that mistimed ultimate, her team can capitalize on whatever damage she managed to do and potentially set her up for another full combo a few seconds later. It's not hard to kill a squishy with 60% HP, and doing so gives Kat another round of Bouncing Blade/Shunpo/Whirling Steel, potentially giving her another assist or even a kill (and resetting her basic abilities again.)

She should be rewarded for kills. She should not be rewarded as much as she is for assists, she's equally rewarded for kills and assists right now which isn't balanced.

My proposal is to increase her benefit from getting kills but significantly reduce the benefit from assists.

Voracity (changed): Kills reduce Katarina's remaining cooldowns by 15 seconds. In addition, Katarina gains +10% damage for 5/6/7 seconds after scoring a kill. Assists reduce Katarina's remaining cooldowns by 7.5 seconds, but do not grant bonus damage.

Alternatively, she could gain a different/stronger effect for kills and not gain any benefit from assists.

Your changes would be a HUGE buff to max level Katarina and make her stronger in the mid game. At level 18, Q=8secs, W=4Secs all levels, E=6secs at 18 and R = 45secs at 18. Once you have done your initial combo you usually do not use q again, it has a cast time and allows people time to react.

Voracity is her defining feature, it is her strongest offensive tool and her only real defensive tool. You can not change her passive without a complete rework of Katarina. You really cant lower her base damages due to her already having really low base damages. You are correct that Voracity is the only reason Katarina is complained about but it is also the only reason she is viable.

Also Zhonyas, doesn't matter how much you cc her, if she survives it's gg you lose the teamfight.

Then she just snowballs to the point where she one shots half your team.

Cancer champion is cancer. The again what else can you expect from an Assassin, specially an AOE bullshit Assassin

**Marksman **are capable of taking out a solid 50% of the enemy team's collective health with auto-attacks and reasonable positioning. **Mages **are capable of taking out a solid 50% of the enemy team's collective health with a well-timed combo. **Assassins **are capable of taking out a solid 50% of the enemy team's collective health. Generally via bursting one target and then fallowing up with powerful auto-attacks and low CD skills (resets) to transition from kill to kill.

Katarina has wimpy auto-attacks so she gets re-sets on everything, pretty simple.

It's not like her QWER is way stronger than everyone else's and then gets re-sets either. Fiddlestick's QWER does notably more than double the single-target damage if he gets max-hits on everything, and his AoE isn't capped against 3 enemy champions. He's also ranged and can keep his ult going while in Zhonya's. And he actually has CC, so there's that.

Kata's QWE also does less damage than a max-range Nidalee Javelin pre-Nid rework. Assuming you maxed the QWE when Nid just maxed Q.


Katarina without any re-sets is awful. She's specifically designed to need re-sets to even break even with a lot of other damage dealing champs. She needs all 4 to outdo Fiddlesticks.

If Kat's team is able to kill a squishy on my team despite their only assassin being dead, then my team majorly misplayed and shouldn't have allowed said squishy to be caught out of position so badly. Next time my team needs to be on their game, making sure they are not caught out and are able to do their job, especially when an assassin tries jumping past lines only to get CC'd and nuked before doing her job.
