Irrelevant roles make the game frustrating. And an idea for an improved ranked system!

This is long, but stay to the end for my idea of an improved ranked system.

Imagine playing a team game where 90% of the people in it are literal coin flips and you main a role that is basically irrelevant until 35 mins+ oh and the average game time currently is 35* mins. Well that is the current state of playing an ADC. You literally become relevant by the time the game ends. Isn't that just great! Sure there are "options" that have more of an impact in the mid game only needing two items to really start to shine. Unfortunately though any tank in the game still destroys these options and in fact these options are strictly just worse against tanks/bruisers in general. So 90% of each game is completely random and the 10% that I make up is irrelevant until the game ends unless I absolutely dominate in lane(which can happen). What this really boils down to, is unless you are significantly better then your current rank you wont climb ever. Now I am no expert but that doesn't seem like good game design.

Oh did I mention they just made climbing even more difficult? Yea that happened.

Also in before all of the trolls in the comments say "Get gud nub."

I just wanted to add what I think would be good game design in here as well to try and make this as constructive as possible. Maybe this is a too idealistic system, but ya know with 200+ years of game design experience I trust Riot's developers to become creative enough to find a way. Solo Que needs to take several things into account besides simply winning or losing. It should take into account how well the person performs on an individual level. How well they performed with their team. How much of an impact they had on the game itself and of course whether or not they actually won. So here is my idea.

Each game you start by either gaining or losing LP based on the outcome of the game. So if the current system has you losing 20 LP for a loss and gaining 20 LP for a win this will still exist. HOWEVER if you are the player who contributes the most on your team you will gain an additional 10 LP. So now you have gained 30 LP or you have lost 10 LP. The person who contributes the second most to the team gets an additional 5 LP and loses 5 LP less for a loss. 3rd 4th and 5th get nothing additional. This really promotes good play. It would even reduce toxicity in my opinion because people who are going to lose KNOW they wont lose as much because they played well. I mean honestly it is such a simple concept that would go so far with the community and the health of the game.

For those wondering how this would even be determined, there are already apps that can determine the MVP in a game and on a team. I have full confidence this can be done reliably. Its all based on statistics which riot games already has a page for that keeps track of all of this.

*Edit: Average Game time is less then 35 minutes and varies depending on your rank. https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/rankings/game-durations Here they are thanks to Speeedy in the comments. As you can see it is actually less then a 50/50 chance of you being relevant in any said game which makes adc even worse. This only gets more exaggerated as you move higher up the ladder.

Ahahaha. Oh man are you deluded. Vayne at 2- 3 items( if we count boots 3) can effectively shred through people. Same with Jinx or Lucian. Late game adcs need 4 items( counting boots) to take over. A slight lead and that is not hard to get. The only hard thing about adc is to endure playing this boring class. You take over the game at 35. Everything revolves around keeping the adc alive. Maybe if the enemy has a mage he could also be a big factor. Go play top or jg with bad lanes. Or support whose only purpose is to keep your whiny ass alive and gets rewarded with a big nothing. Sheesh.

average game time is less than 32 minutes and since most players are silver/gold then its 31 minutes

Hmm Yea I googled It. It must be old information I had. Unfortunately though this actually makes it worse because an ADC will have less then a 50/50 chance to have an impact on the game. Which means you start at a disadvantage playing this role.

My last "MVP" game was one where I went 7/5 and my ADC went 1/4 and deserved every one of my 7 kills. If make anything besides winning part of the LP gains, then those skills become part of your play strategy over wins because you can play to the stats.

good luck, I submitted a system that would take luck out of the equation when it comes to first picks in a role (to their official "we look at this" section) making it where one team does not just get to keep an OP pick because they got it first and where players do not live in fear of counter-picking (basically, if it was something so powerful that both players from the same position were going after it, it would ban it and the players pick again, picking at the same time for each position)

this would have encouraged communication and rewarded proper team work while allowing players to be comfortable with the choice that they picked

it was rejected as "not following post guidelines" with no explanation...

Why should you be able to climb when you're not better than your current rank?
