Make Stormrazor better for ADCs and not Assassins

This is a start, Stormrazor was pretty powerful and is an essential rush item in almost every AD champion's build and that was pretty stupid.

But since we're already in an assassin/skirmisher meta at the moment and ADCs are becoming less and less relevant, can't we just make Stormrazor better for ranged champions or keep melee champions from using it altogether?

I don't know about you guys, but when I use it, it's way too strong on Yi and I hate feeling required to get it on Tristana if I want to have the slightest chance of winning.

There's two ways you can improve Stormrazor:

  1. Increase Attack Speed, decrease Attack Damage. I talked with a friend of mine who plays nothing but assassins and he recommended this to balance it. With more attack speed than damage, Rengar's the only assassin that could still use it viably (and even then, not so much) while no ADC could abuse it.
  2. Make it only for Ranged champions. Think Runaan's Hurricane. Since the previous change would fix all assassins but leave a few skirmishers unchecked (and also make it lackluster for ADCs who need early AD), the alternative option is to just slap a "Ranged Only" label on it. This has no game balance issues that I can think of.

Your thoughts?

One of these options are actually good. I think I like the "Ranged Only" more since the other might still come useful for some assassins even if nerfed. I'd also like Stormrazor more if it had better crit scaling. I think less crit % required would be good so you'll have to build at least Zeal to make it useful and more relevant for marksmen.

I think it would be fine it they just nerfed the melee ability to use it. Give it like a Frozen Mallet treatment, just give less stats to non-ranged.

Or they could make it charge up faster via AA instead of being a,"you need to stack all your damage on one AA" kind of deal. They want ADCs to be sustained damage carries. So why is their core item not rewarding of sustained damage? That's the real reason the item sucks for ADCs and not for Assassins. This item was destined to fail just based on the passive and no amount of cost change, crit scaling, item build change, or stat changes are going to make this item worth wild for crit based ADCs. They dont want or need a front loaded, one time use AA passive. They want a passive that is stacked by consistent AAs and movement. The sooner that riot realize this and make the passive more like RFC and Shiv, the better.
