League will never be truly balanced

Come on guys, if Riot wanted to balance the game they would just do it. They are intentionally keeping the game unbalanced because thats the thing known as "perfect unbalance". Think about it. If the game was balanced, all the things that would be fresh are occasional skins and new champs. League would soon become stale and boring. There would be no more meta, strong champs, weak champs. No more patch notes and excitement about new changes. Just something to keep in mind when complaining about balance. EDIT: it is impossible to perfectly balance it, but it can easily be balanced much more than usual

I think perfect, objective balance is impossible.

There are over a hundred champions, over a hundred items, multiple variables in the game (gold income, tower damage/health, jungle objectives), and so on.

You don't need to study chaos theory to understand that it would be impossible to perfectly balance a game with that many variables.

Of course but that doesn't mean we have to agree that Yasuo should be kept in his obnoxious braindead to play state.

And that if there's nothing to complain about, the forums would have died long ago [slayer-jinx-wink]

There is no such thing as "true balance" in a game where players have options. This isn't chess or rock-paper-scissors. The more variables there are, the wider the gap becomes for something to perform better than another in a specific situation. You aren't entirely wrong in the assertion that the game would become stale without change, but no longer needing to change anything is not possible.

If some being beyond us balanced the game as perfect as possible, Garen would still dominate in lower ranks, while being garbage in higher ranks. League won't ever truely be balanced because it simply can not be truely balanced.

True balance isn't perfect symmetry, it's where every champion has strengths, roles, weaknesses and all that. Right now, too many champions are crowding out their weaknesses with items, overloaded kits, overtuned abilities, etc. -- but I'm not goinna talk about balance.

The reason we don't see any semblance of balance is because this game is F2P. As you said, balance is stale and not a whole lot changes. In an F2P game, people need to get hyped up about something to throw money at it, hence the total broken ass champions we have every patch. So, in the wonderful spirit of greed, we just throw balance out the window.

The only thing wrong in this post is when you said that Riot intentionally keeps League unbalanced. In fact, it's impossible to balance 130+ champions considering how many items and such there are

There's also the community's perception of "balanced". Higher elos have different frequently played champs than low elo. Yi is a perfect example of how he's considered op in lower elo yet underpowered in high elo, but imo I think he's balanced. It's all about perception.

But you are correct in saying how metas are how they control the chaos and keep the game constantly fresh and entertaining

The "problem" is that they balance based on flawed metas, play styles, etc. ADC being strong makes assassins stronger. So if people start believing adc are strong enough to solo carry games that will artificially increase the power level of adc and temporarily increase the power of assassins.

this is some astonishing ignorance.
