How do you do well with Teemo?

I'm serious, this champion has literally NOTHING going for it over contemporaries who fill similar positions. Why on earth would I choose Teemo over someone like Jayce. They're both lane bullies, except one has a viable mid/late?

Lets see:

-No range -No dashes/gap closers -No inherent tankiness -No reliable ultimate(sweeping lens) -No hard cc, no reliable soft cc (see sweeping lens) -No damage steroids -Unreliable passive (extremely situational) -Only has burst if you itemize specifically for it, and it's incredibly short-ranged -Nothing to help teammates (no stats boosts, movement speed, etc such as in the case of Jayce's acceleration gate)

Build tank? Lose purpose, because he's designed to deal damage and you're taking this away. Squishy? Nothing to help you survive. No clutch mobility. No CC. No range.

How do you play this champion well? Even a fed Teemo has nothing to keep him from losing his effectiveness mid to lategame due to his absolutely terrible kit.

You play Teemo to troll, not to win.

Ok sure but why3 votes

literally every build works on him

Every build works on him because he's such a blank slate. The reason you don't build AS on Jayce is because he already has a full AS steroid. Teemo has nothing to define him and give him itemization priority (other than his unreliable shrooms). He's as close to a generic ranged autoattacking champion with no unique abilities and mechanics as you can get.

that's what i respect about teemo

mostly every other champ has had specific nerfs that make them only good with one build

teemo is everywhere, like betty white

yet, despite everything you pointed out, his winrate is much higher than jayce's lol. Maybe it's a shitty player rather than a shitty champ.

Please, by all means - tell me in which ways Teemo is better than Jayce, and how this makes him a better or equal champion overall? Because if you can't, I implore you to look a little a closer at HOW the high winrate statistics were measured.

Teemo can actually hurt tanks late game. Checkmate.

In all seriousness, teemo is a lane bully that doesn't actually fall off, whereas jayce's winrate drops like 12% from 25 minutes to 40.

Teemo's shrooms provide vision across the whole map, wave clear, zoning, and a psychological battle.

As long as teemo builds liandry's, he's going to be useful. even if he loses lane. If jayce loses lane, he's literally fucking worthless. No gold=no damage. Shitty cc that he has to be in melee range for, worthless utility. Teemo builds a liandry and his shrooms take a third of a tank's health.

I go full movement speed with Banner of Command and ZZ'Rot. Then I just push a lane as hard as I can while my team fights. There isn't a champion who can catch me once I lay out a mine field behind the minion wave to run into, and if I lose them in the jungle, I just wait for them to leave before I go back to pushing the lane and expanding the mine field.

Picking Teemo sort of condemns your team to 4v5 teamfights because Teemo doesn't work well against clustered enemies. But his trade off for this is a strong map control with his shrooms and an abiity to split-push lanes pretty well. He can also hard nuke most ADCs with his Blind if he can catch them unaware.

He's a mediocre splitpusher with a shitty way of keeping people from collapsing on him. Those shrooms are not viable, especially with sweeping lens. Also, plenty of champions can circumvent them by going over walls. Vi and Zac to name a few.

You only pick Teemo to tilt your opponent if you dont get to tilt the other guy you lose. the champion is trash and way too easy to counter.

He can try to backdoor with lichbane and AS build or take over the map with Morello + % dmg build. Or act as second marksman. I've won games with Teemo on my team where he was the magic dmg DPS backline and he carried.

Teemo isn't used for winning a fight. He is used for map controll and instilling fear into the enemy. People that are good with teemo usually have a good sence of battlefield awareness and advanced tactics in general. That is why they will make your life a living hell. He is of of the few champs that has a really strong negative psychological effect on the enemy ( especially in low elo ).

Ok as a Teemo Main (I am a bad person) I have a guide for you. QUICK NOTE: NEVER TRY THIS IN RANKED

As Teemo your goal is to win lane. I usually start out with death fire touch as my keystone and build ap. Take Heal and Ignite (screw flash)

Now you load into the game, get amplifying time and a pot as your starting items then scurry to top lane. Take E first. Don't stand in your minion wave, stand to a little bit behind or to the side of it. Now every time the enemy lane tries to get farm you auto attack him. Just don't get cocky and chase. Now keep on annoying them. 50% of the time you'll get first blood, if you play it right. They'll have to back by around level 5 due to the fact that they could be ignited any moment. Take that time to push their tower and recall. Get haunting guise and boots if you have enough gold. Now go back to lane. Rinse and repeat. One you reach level six, poke them out then all in them. Use your mushrooms through them at your opponent's feet. Heal and Ignite. Boom you just got a kill. Now rinse and repeat. Remember to shroom up the river. By the time landing phase ends you should be moderately fed. Occasionally roam to other lanes for free kills. After you get Nashors Tooth abandon top lane. Now take the tower in mid. Now just only stay mid, unless a major minion wave if threatening a tower. Turn mid into a minefield. After Nashors Tooth get Guinsoo's rage blade, then HEXTECH gunblade, and at last frozen mallet. If you did this correctly you probably would have a 2 for 1 kda.

This build provides Tankiness and damage. You probably should have close to 3000 health. 400 ap and 200 ad.

You have a 0% winrate with Teemo in ranked, with only 4 games. And you're not even level 7 with him.

You didn't even read the post. I said this strategy sucked in Ranked. So I mainly try this in normals. The four games were my attempts to make this strategy work in rank.

He has a strong laning phase and his shrooms are basically wards that you can spam.

A teemo splitting is different than a jayce splitting. He has shrooms everywhere and can just go invisible anywhere if he out of vision. He's also faster, so really, he's harder to catch to stop his split pushing.

Why on earth would I choose 'x' champion over someone like 'insert meta champ' is a poor question.

  1. You're more skilled with one champion than the other
  2. You enjoy the champion more than the other
  3. You felt like 'x' champion was a good pick with yours/enemy team composition

Cz the problem was not the champion.

It's the guy who's playing the champion.

But of course, the rule doesn't apply to noob Yasuo/Lee Sin/Camille players, those jerks still needs nerfs.
