am i the only one who doesn't want a rework for ww?

i like ww the way he is right now. i like him for his simplicity. he's basically just an autoattacking powerhouse with crazy sustain who chases down low health targets. the rework proposes to change his w into a fear, and add a boomerang active to his e. i don't like the idea of this. he won't have the same feel.

That rework got scrapped because it sucked. I like the idea they had for his passive heal and damage scaling with bonus hp and damage respectively, but other than that the changes were just bad. The boomerang sounded extremely clunky, the fear felt out of place as its own ability, and they didn't really make his ult any better or worse.

I'm sad to say though that right now his kit is extremely passive and toxic to play with. he has too much sustain that is not gated meaningfully (Q) his passive is lackluster at best, since he doesn't keep stacks after switching targets, he has a couple pseudo passive abilities (W and E) and a zero skill low counter play ult which doesn't really deal the damage one feels it should. Overall, Warwick just doesn't match his supposed identity as a bloodthirsty killing machine, instead fitting more as a tank. I think it would be best if they reworked him so that he could have the choice of either being extremely tanky and utility based or having burst and mobility as an assassin, depending on how he is built (Werewolves aren't scary because you can't kill them, they are scary because they will kill you and chase you relentlessly).

i wouldn't mind some changes to warwick. it's really hard for him to get to or stick to targets unless they're already at half health or his ult is up. in general there's really nothing he can do when he's behind, and nothing the enemy can do when he's ahead. Also the mechanics on his ult are super weird and the power on E varies wildly in team fights depending on how many on his team care about auto attacks.

I really want him to keep that tracker feel, though. i would probably put the importance of that even above him being an AA spammer.

QFT He needs some work.

Well WW rework is already being made, if i recall correctly they changed his E into some sorta of boomerange jump, similar how Quinn E works but you can cast any spells that you have durint the animation.

junglerboy161 votes

They threw that concept in the trash, it didn't work and they had to prioritize other champ work. also, any of you getting that information, it was from April—5 MONTHS AGO. It is outdated information and he is not really set for a rework any time soon.

No, I don't want it too.

We're 2 now.

Two people defending one of the most passive playstyles outside of old Sion won't get him saved. He's just got to many passive bonuses in his kit.

What I'd love to see them do, is rework his scent so that it still reveals stealthed characters! Just because they go invisible, doesn't hide the fact they are badly hurt, bloody, and able to be "smelled"

Also, his q should be changed to a bite. Doesn't make sense that a swipe heals him. But a bite? Oh yeah! That would heal him, and you could also add a slight slow to the bite if you wanted to add some sticking power.

And his e? nothing needs to be changed with that. UNLESS, you wanted to turn it into a frenzy ability where it only gave him an attack speed buff...and then maybe a slight ad buff too?

I don't see anything wrong really with WW and I like the way he is. I just wish they would tweak some of his current things to make him a bit more reliable. But a complete rework is overkill honestly.

As for his E varying wildly in teamfights...I do agree. But why would you be picking WW into an ap heavy team composition? or a poke composition? WW should be used as a rotational objective taking beast working best in a pick style comp.

I feel like they will remove scent before W gets to sniff stealthed champions. It gives him too much chasing potential.

And then there's his Ult with no counterplay.

You act like there isn't a QSS you can't buy.

And as for him having to much too much chasing potential...one name, Vayne. She has more chasing potential than he does. Hell, people constantly out run WW...especially all the champions that have a dash or jump or something like that.

Marthian1 votes

Vayne doesn't get vision of you, and she has to see you to get the FLAT movement speed bonus. 2000 range

Warwick if you got whacked gets to see where you went, and gets a 20/25/30/35/40 PERCENT movement speed bonus. 1500/2300/3100/3900/4700 range. And don't forget it isn't direction limited either.

QSS has too many problems: It's a 1550 gold sink (putting you behind on build and damage) and it's a dead-end item for APCs. And you should be able to avoid the effect in the first place (such as Morgana's Q).

I agree...it is kind of a dead end item for APCs, but I was commenting that there is counter play. And I'm guessing you must be against Taric's Stun, Skarners Ult, Malz's Ult, Rammus' taunt, Leona's Stun, etc? They are all point and click cc.

And it's not a gold sink. It's a defensive item that keeps you alive and allows you to keep pumping out the damage. And if you're too important to provide your own line of defense, then why don't you have your support buy a item 3222? Now you can rely on someone else to keep you safe. The whole point is, there is counter play.

Marthian1 votes

Something to note with who you picked, except for Taric and Malz, they have to get into close range (Leona has to land her E) Malzahar and WW ult is a ranged point and click ability.

It is a gold sink for carries. I've seen a lot of games where the carry has to build it or Malz/WW wrecks them. And they fall behind in damage compared to the opposite carry. It may not be true mid-late game, but early game, you don't build it, they are going to get free kills, and if you rush QSS, you'll barely do any damage.

Mikael's doesn't work on suppression.

WW is easily kited back. Also, QSS, cleanse, mikeals.

Seriously, WW isn't that much of a problem if you know what to do against him.

Marthian1 votes

Not really sure how you kite someone that blink-supresses you.

Cleanse and Mikeals DOES NOT work on supression effects for some reason. QSS is a pain to buy since it costs so much you fall behind a lot in damage, APCs can't upgrade it further, and you should be able to avoid the effects through skill (such as Morgana's Q.)

it is a known fact that bite based moves are good

I wouldn't mind a visual update.

They are trying to change ww? This Doesn't bode well ... as an avid ww player looks like im next on the chopping board T.T Let's just pray riot decides to listen to the communities input on the rework this time.

junglerboy161 votes

THEY ARE NOT reworking him any time soon, that proposed rework was from April, and got scrapped almost immediately.

He needs some love. His kit and playstyle may be simple, but it's also outdated and not suited to modern LoL play. If you jungle him, he can't even think about ganking until after he hits 6, and when he does there's not a whole lot you can do when he comes waltzing out of the brush with an instant gapcloser that also suppresses.

And those mana costs, good lord. Two Qs and a W and he's done.

Let's not even get started on his visuals.

To me, Warwick just feels clunky right now. He definitely needs a VU, but I think there are some inherent problems with his kit. His ult is...well, it's either too good or too bad; too good in lane, too bad (easily disrupted) in teamfights. His e is a neat idea, but I think it's sort of wasted as its own ability. W is an AS buff that while beneficial to his playstyle, really doesn't add any flavor to the champion. And his Q...it feels a little underwhelming thematically.( Oh, you scratched them EXTRA HARD? Nice one!). The biggest problem for me is that there's almost never a reason NOT to use his abilities at any time, and when you do, the advantages gained are really passive and boring.

I'm not saying that scrapping everything is the best solution here; I just think that Warwick lacks a certain oomph that Riot likes to give champion abilities. Yi, a similar style champion, has alpha strike and meditate, both very neat, personal abilities. Mundo, a very simple champion, has a low-cd meat cleaver that really defines him.

So, yeah, I understand why you like his kit simple, but I don't think it really fits with the rest of League. Again, I don't think they should scrap everything, but I think Riot is going to take him in a direction more in-line with the rest of their champions and give him some abilities that relate to his theme better and add some extra oomph.

I feel the same way about the WW situation and his w is unique as well no other champ has a Aoe attack-speed buff

though people are saying the rework got scrapped
